NO heat in 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have no heat in 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee..It is now at North American Radiator in Utica, Mi. 48313. They cannot figure out WHY I have no heat.. They replaced thermostat.. took apart dashboard.. checked my heater core ( 2 years old) and that was fine.. check dash control unit and it is working properly.. head doors working properly. My jeep has been there 1 1/2 weeks and they cannot find problem... I suggested maybe a fuse or something simple.... North American replaced my radiator 6 months ago.. and since then my Cruise Control has stopped working.. I mentioned that as a possable problem, they said NO.. Please help, they are charging me by the hour to fix it..

I went to visit my Radiator Repair man today after work. I asked him if he checked the "Air Temp Control Blend Motor?" . He said Yes he did, and that is not the problem.... He will figure it out, but he can't think what it could be...

Any other ideas out there? I know an automobile is a complicated beast, but, just how hard is it to determine why it is not blowing heat... In 4 months I will not need the heat anymore, until next winter... If you have an idea, let me know,,

I had that problem but it was simple! When my coolant was flushed they had to flush it backwards as well so that the back pressure cleaned something out. See if that works?

This is the problem then, and a very common one at that, bad news is the dash must come out to replace it.

the fact he has the dash apart means nothing, does the blend door motor test ok? it moves the door, I really think helpful would have been a more fair ratring, but that's ok, wish u luck.

Heat doesnt work in my jeep cherokee when driving but when sitting heat works

Put a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator. Only if it's cold out though, Usually in really cold weather, the cooling affect of the cold air circulating around the radiator keeps the fluid from getting hot enough to produce heat unless your running in park.

How do i bleed the cooling system on a 1998 jeep grand cherokee 4.0l 6 cylinder?

All you need to do on those is on level ground, run it with the heater on high heat with the radiator cap open. Fill as necessary 'till no more can be added, close it up and add vcoolant to the full line on the overflow tank.
If you are consistently encountering an overheat and finding air in the system you may have a head gasket or cracked cylinder head that is permitting combustion gasses in there. (a hydrocarbon test at the radiator will tell you that).
If you are having any other problem there, ask and I'll try to help.

My 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee is over heating and I have already replaced the water pump. Someone told me it might be the heat censor. Could this be right and if so how much is it going to cost me.

Be careful, with engine at normal oper. temp. feel both upper and lower radiator hoses, they should both feel the same, warm to hot, if not the same temp. replace the thermostat.Heat sensor either work's or not, if it reads hot, engine is hot, or will not work at all.

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine Stays Cold

If you have verified that the dash temp gauge is correct by checking temp of coolant in radiator, yes your guess would be what i would change, the engine needs to have a 195degree thermostat in it.195 degrees is what the computer is programed to see as normal running temp.

follow top radiator hose from radiator to engine wear hose ends, it will be clamped to whats called the gooseneck, thermostat is under that. you will have to drain coolant, not all, maybe 1 half gal. before you remove it. 2 bolts new gasget new thermostat, just remember spring on new thermostat goes in engine.
