The car will not start. Battery is charged. I turn the key and get a single click and a slight hum for about 3 seconds. All the lights stay on except the radio when i try to turn the car on. Ive cleaned...

could be the starter motor solenoid is stuck the click can be the the ignition relay and the hum is the fuel pump. sometimes works if you hit the solenoid with the a hammer then try to start the engine if this work then change the starter motor or have it fixed.

There are times when we begin to start the truck it only clicks like the battery is dead, however it isn't and if we try several times the truck will start. The battery tests good and the lights and stereo...

You need the solenoid switch either replaced or repaired. The solenoid is part of the starter and the Nippondenso brand can have the contacts replaced in it and the Mando brand is only serviced by replacement.Either way,it will be a lot cheaper to fix the solenoid switch then to replace the starter, but a new starter will also get rid of your problem, hope this helps!

94 toyota carolla starter clicks eventualy starts

You have two options: replace the starter (easiest, but most expensive), or replace the contacts (cheaper, but more work involved).
In any case, you have to remove the starter. Disconnect the battery BEFORE you start. Locate the starter and remove the wires going to it. The starter is held onto the transmission with 2 large bolts. Remove both, and slide the starter out.

If you want to change the contacts, observe the starter, locate a metal plate held on with 3 bolts. Remove the bolts and the plate. You will now see a plunger, and 2 copper colored contacts. Those are what needs to be replaced. Changing the contacts is easy, just do one at a time, and ensure that all insulators are installed properly on reassembly.

Where is thestarter located on a 2003 Mercedes Benz E320?

You would need to get a repair manual for a schematic to know where the starter motor is located. In truth, replacement is not very complicated--you simply unbolt the old unit and bolt in a new replacement unit. But, you may have to disassemble other components to reach the starter motor. It is likely more costly to have your starter motor repaired. I suggest getting a new one or refurbished. Some places will have a "core charge", whereby you get that money refunded when you send them your old starter. In the end, it is cheaper and easier than getting your starter motor fixed. Good luck.

Where is the starter located on the 1999 Chevy Lumina?

if everything shuts off when you try to start it you most likley have a bad wiring connection, check connections at battery and fuse block.

the starter is located on the lower front of the engine where the engine and the transmission come together, just above the subframe.
