Re: I have a 1995 s10 pickup and the check engine light...
You need to have a code scanner hooked up to it to find out why that light is on. If you have an autozone parts store near you,go to them, and they can hook one up, if not there are other ones that can do it. Once the code is retrieved, it tell you what it is.

sounds like a loose power connection or bad wiring in the engine compartment. Check battery cables and ground connections at both ends of wires and cables first. If the problem remains, test equipment and a wiring diagram would come in handy.
How much below 30 is it dropping? Oil pressure when in DRIVE at idle on a hot engine, is NORMAL at around 18 to 20 Psi. The warning lamp does not come on until around 7 Psi.
With that said, the oil pressure switch (for the light) is located on the lower left front of the engine. The fuel pump oil pressure switch and sender (for the gauge and fuel pump operation) is on the lower right front of the engine.
Engine ping can be a bad valve or berring so if there is a bad valve or berring your going to have to have the engine opened up. If its just dirty and from being clogged up, you can try useing products like Seafoam. Caution special note. you can go to Utube and look up how to do this. its not hard to do, it can be dangerous. If you play with things that light on fire, there is always a chance of getting hurt or doing damage.
You must make your own decision to try this to fix it.
Sometimes when the engine is just dirty and needs to get cleaned up a litle, this can help a lot. but if dirt is the only thing holding something together. when you clean it, it will break on you. So please consider if you really want to do this first.
I have done this on a regular basis and the Seafoam seams to work pretty good.
Hope I have helped and given you something to think about.
no should be same engine. check your engine mounts and tranny mount. how bad a vibration? sometimes after installing engine the trans gets shifted around and if mount was worn it will allow it to hit crossmeber and vibrate.
