Make sure you have brake lights. This is were the shifter solenoid gets it's signal from to get it out of gear.
One thing you can try is turn the igntion switch towards the run postion stopping just short of activating the electronics. Then try and move shifter to neutral then you can start it and out it into gear so you can drive it to get it fixed.

SOURCE: 97 lincoln continental says door is ajar.

the door switches are part of the door latch, the easiest way to remedy this is to spray liberal amounts of WD40 into each latch and open and close the each door a few times, this should loosen up the latch and solve your problem.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2000 Navigator - something draining on battery - goes dead

Hellokrissypoo4...Your navigator has what is known as a parasitic battery drain...meaning, something in the vehicles system is not turning is the way i test for this, you will need a digitial multimeter to perform this test...when doing this test make sure that the dome light, under hood light, trunk light, etc. are OFF.

  1. Remove the negative side battery cable from the negative battery terminal.
  2. Attach an ammeter(this measures amperage) between the negative cable and the negative battery post. wait a few seconds to several minutes for the car to go into sleep mode. i.e. when you make the contact with the test light the cars computer systems "wake up" after a bit of time they will go to "sleep".
  3. If the ammeter is reading over 25-50 milliamps, something is using too much battery power.
  4. Go to the fuse panel(s) and remove fuses, one at a time. Pull the main fuses (higher amp ratings)last. Be sure to observe the ammeter after pulling each fuse.
  5. Watch for the ammeter to drop to acceptable drain. The fuse that reduces the drain is the draw. Consult the owners' manual or service manual to find what circuits are on that fuse.
  6. Check each device (circuit) on that fuse. Stop each lamp, heater, etc. to find the drain.
  7. Repeat steps 1&2 to test your repair. The ammeter will tell you exact numbers

  8. Some after-market alarm systems may make this test too long or loud to be worth the effort. If that's the case, seek professional help.
  9. In more and more models made after 2003 disconnecting the battery will reset the PCM requiring the modules to relearn. In certain cases this requires a factory scan tool. It is best to take such cars to either the dealer or a professional in auto electrical systems.
  10. Be careful working around the battery in a car
Good luck krissy..i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya.

You could always go to your local library, and look at the car manuals that are located there, if you don't want to go to an Auto parts store and buy your self a manual for about 25 bucks.. (that's what I did) - A Chiltons...

Just had the entire coolant system replaced on my 07 Malibu about 5 days later my engine ran great before.they said they took out a sparkplug and it was bent.could they of done something wrong

It is doubtful that they did something wrong. After all, the car ran for 5 days. You would have seen a puddle of coolant under the car or you would have seen the engine overheat if they had not put everything back together correctly.

Truck suddenly dies

Could be battery, alternator or something more serious.
Look on driver's side fender, under the hood,
There is a harness that sometimes gets eaten by battery acid.
Sometimes it is eaten out from inside as copper melts away as the wire is being chafed.
If you happen to find a green and black wire like this, that is the oxygen sensor signal circuit.
On 3.0 there is a problem with the abyss almost directly below the throttle body where the harness goes across the engine body.
The factory only installed one wire tie around the air intake tube to put it above the exhaust manifold tube. Now if that harness fell down, then it came in contact with the crossover pipe which can lead to grounding of multiple circuits.
Good luck.

Dismount door panel. VW Polo Net My passenger's windows fell down. I need to know how to open the door panel so I can try to fix it. I'm afraid to break something that I cant put back because I dont realy...

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

2003 Kia Rio, died while driving, and wouldn't start back up.

Makes no sense. car would not die if a bolt fell out of the starter. It would die if the alternator was not charging and the battery went dead. Noise could be a belt has come off..You will have to give everything a good looking at and test a few things especially that the battery is fully charged. Any questions about what you find, I'm here!
