problably you need to change the braces for the wiper, maybe they are touching in the metal inside and below the winshield,i had the same problem in a toyota tercel and i replace the braces,,,,,,there are a little gasket in the hole to make this adjust and it was broke
There are onlyy three things, check fuses, check the switch by wiggling it or check and make sure the motor is not bound up or the linkage has not come apart under the hood. You caqn try turning them on and then manually lifting on the wiper to see if it will start moving again. May be a weak motor.
Check out the wiper motor and associated assembly is not dry. If so oil it and the bearings of the motor too. If any plastic gear or part is being used then check if its OK & not wornout. These are the basic things you can try before getting any part replaced.........sodeep
my 2004 expedition had same problem, if you take apart the shaft that goes thru the glass it will be full of dirt, clean ,lubricate and reinstall, you may have to replace the O-ring on the shaft. a 20 minute job, very easy fix
