Bit late in the day but thought I'd share this anyways .... my 93 SE key can only be removed after engaging REVERSE gear (manual shift).

This may or may not work,it worked on a different car. Try shaking the steering wheel back and forth while pulling on key, or turning ignition. Hope it helps.

Make sure you've shifted all the way into Park. Push the key down while turning it.

99 saab auto 9-3 auto gearbox stops working when car warms up I did have coolant in gearbox prior empty oil and replace new oil 3 times was ok

I assume that you replaced the radiator, or had the trans cooler replaced, since that is how coolant gets into the trans. If this is what happened, the coolant becomes emulsified with the trans fluid, it caused a major mess inside the transmission. Just changing the fluid is not the fix. You will either have to have the trans removed, disassembled, and thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt,or replace it.

99 Saab 9-3 Turn-Key cranks over but wont start. It's A 5 speed manual if you pull it it starts but not by the key. It reads key not accepted. What is wrong?

Inside the key close to the blade is a small chip that the ecm needs to receive the code from to allow it to start the engine there is a pickup coil in the plastic surround the steering lock barrel if the connector is dodgy you can get a key error or if the chip has moved out of position in the key same result
the code has to be read and accepted before it will let the engine start

How do i start my saab 93 2003 after battery change?

OK, first open the relay box that is next to the batt, then remove the yellow relay(pos# 3 from driver to bumper)(theres two yellow relays) then with a little piece of wire plug it in the horizontal slot and then in the vertical one that is right on from of it for 1 to 3 seconds into the car star. Make sure the key is in on position and Ebrake is on, if auto trans, put in Park, if Manual trans, put in Neutral, because you will jump the starter motor relay, and the engine will spin as soon as you plug in the wire.2_1_2013_7_53_36_am.jpg

1996 SAAB 9000 auto trans - I can not turn the key to the lock and remove position anymore

Have you tried to jiggle the steering wheel when trying? Sometimes the pin will not line up with the holes and will cause this.
