Question about 2005 Jaguar X-Type
I have to turn the car off and use the remote to unlock the doors when someone is trying to get into the back as I don't see where the door lock/unlock button is inside the Jag?
If you press the unlock button on the key fob twice when you first unlock the car this unlocks all the doors and the boot. If you have only pressed it once only the drivers door is unlocked. If you have only pressed it once and you have started the car push the locking button on the door and the pull it this will then unlock all the doors and boot too so you don't have the turn the car off and press the unlock button on the key fog again. The locking button or lever is located above the door opening handle inside the car the smaller one of the two

I have a similar problem in my x type. Although if I press unlock button on the key first and then use the metalic key to unlock it dissables the alarm.
Also according to the manual if you unlock by the metalic key the car starts a beeping sound its I think 15-20 second timer within which you should put the key and start the ignition (don't need to start the engin) this will dissarm the alarm if not the alarm will go off in 15-20 second.
Hope this information is of any use, am trying to get hold of Jaguar dealers to fix this issue. If you come accross any solution please do let me know too

No definately not, the only time the horn will sound is if you are trying to set alarms + a door is open.............Change batteries + try again or check door connections

Testimonial: "Thank you for your help. oiling the door latch did indeed work. I thought the problem could only be fixed by a garage appointment. "
