Was installing radio and truck shut off

I was trying to remove the dash to install a radio and couldn't remove it without putting to truck into low gear. I started the truck just fine and had to unplug the airbag on/off switch to remove the dash. When I unplugged it the truck shut off. I got everything back together and truck still would not start. And the airbag error light is now on. I can hear something clicking inside the dash around the steering wheel. I unplugged the radio completely and the problem is still there. I beleive I have a short to ground or not sure if the airbag has to be reset before it will restart. Also I checked for blown fuses and found none. Any help or advice anyone can give me would be appreciated.

I want to upgrade my stereo in my truck. Where can I get instructions on how to take my dash apart without destroying anything?

First you need to remove the dash bezel. To do so you need to put the truck in low gear and tilt the column all the way down then grab a side or the top and pull on the bezel with moderate pressure. now that your down to the radio there are tabs on either side of the radio, push them down and pull the radio out. unplug the wiring harness and antenna from the back of the radio and your done.

I am trying to install a van radio. When I hook

If it"s an aftermarket radio, orange wires often aren't used, (it's usually for dimming) try it without connecting the orange wire, but be sure not to leave the wire exposed.

How do i reinstall the stereo

The instrument panel cover (and therefore the radio bezel) is fastened to the dash frame with snap-clips which cannot be seen with the instrument panel cover installed. To remove the instrument panel cover and gain access to the radio cavity, remove the radio fuse from fuse panel located on the driver's side of truck (the one that has a thumbnail opening and is triangular shaped), visible when you open the driver's door. Then set parking brake all the way down, put key in ignition and turn to "on" but not "start" and put gearshift into "L" position.
The snap-clips are located at the upper right corner, lower right corner, upper left corner, lower left corner and a few places in between, behind the dash cover over the instrument panel. You don't need any tools, just put your fingers on the seam of the dash cover and the the dash body, and pull firmly toward you until the instrument panel cover pops out and GENTLY so as not to break the instrument panel cover, continue until the instrument panel cover is loose from the dash and resting on the steering column. The headlight switch, and 4X4 switch (if equipped) remain in the instrument panel cover and will have to be unplugged to remove the instrument panel cover from the dash completely. This is a snug fit, even with the gearshift in "L".
The aftermarket radio bezel will have two screws at the bottom under the radio on the dash frame. Remove these screws, and remove the aftermarket radio from the radio cavity in the dash. The factory radio has two guide pins on the back, and the electrical connector is made into the radio and again in the back of the radio cavity. Simply slide the factory unit into the radio cavity, firmly seat it into the connector and guide pin sockets, and re-install the two screws you took out earlier.
The instrument panel cover re-installs the reverse of removal, and to seat the snap-clips, simply strike the cover sharply with the heel of your hand over each clip location. The dash will pop right back into place, and you will never know that an aftermarket head unit had ever been in there.

Take out dash(tundra) for antenna installation

You could do an antenna installation without removing the dash. Take out the center assembly with the radio and hvac controls and the glove box. You'll have enough access to run the antenna wire from its stock location to the radio.

Replace factory radio on 2002 yukon xl

all you gotta do is carfully pry the dash panel off (prying from the far left end is easiest) completely remove panel. then there are 2 clips that hold the factory sterio in place. push on the both clips while pulling the radio out. simply disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the radio. using an adapter avaliable at your local radio shop (scosche p/n gm02, mdarb and gm1483b) wiring harness, dash install kit, and antenna adapter. then simply match the colors on the new radio's harness to the adapter harness, crimping each connection with a "but plug". then simply follow the instructions included with the dash install kit to assemble the kit.connect the antenna adapter to radio, plug in all cables. test to see if everything works properly before the final install. install sterio into dash install kit, re installing kit where origional radio was. then simply put the panel back in its place by firmly pushing on it untill it snaps into place. then enjoy your new radio!

Car radio install

There should be an actual wire harness for radio back in there somewhere, maybe tied up or bundled up, just have to find it, then buy from stereo or automotive supply place, an adapter that will go from factory plug to your other stereo, and it will make installation much, much easier.
