I recently had my water pump changed on my 04 grand prix now it is leaking anti freeze, i have to put almost a gallon in a couple times a day. I know its not the radiator, what else could be leaking? its coming from somewhere near the front passenger wheel.

Re: anti freeze leaking
Sounds like they installed the pump incorrectly. Gasket misalignment? Started right after the waterpump was installed? Hose clamp not quite tight enough? Just a thought. The passenger front wheel area is just the right area for it to be the pump. I hope this was able to help you. If you still need me, I'll be here. Best wishes to you.

You should look under the car after it sits a while and see if there is antifreeze on the ground. If so try to see where it could be leaking under the hood directly over the puddle. You could have a leaking water pump. If so there would be dampness under the right side of engine compartment. Also check the radiator hoses at front of car.
Yes you can but it should be as a last resort. The scale in the water when heated will fix itself to the engine interior. Over a period of time it will accumulate and then plug the radiator. Antifreeze helps keep this from happening as well as provide freeze protection for your car.
I love my 04 jeep I have replaced the water pump because my anti freeze was leaking..my gasket on my water pump was bad..Then 2 months later again leaking antifreeze, replaced the pump again..then again I ended up having to replace the timing cover because it built up so much pressure that it put pivets in the cover that or because they removed it so many times to replace the pump..thats where i would check first then go from there.
check your water pump for leaks. If its coming for the pump housing it will need to be replaced. Check the gasket area where the pump bolts to the block.. If water is not from the pump or around it check your hoses and clamps. check thermostat housing.
the water pump is what pumps the anti-freeze half of anti-freeze is water so its called a water pump. but to me it sounds like theres something slugging up your radiator theres a small drain on the side if nothing comes out then its clogged, if it does then i would agree with your friend about the pump hope this helps :)
Could be water pump, bad hose, bad gasket. First thing is first, find out what the problem is. Go to auto part store, get some dye for radiator system. dump it in, run vechile, use uv goggles and a uv light to determin where it is leaking from. Once found, a step by step process can be described for you to replace needed parts.
Right above the water pump there's a 90 degree elbow that's made out of plastic that comes out of the intake and goes to a heater core hose. That's where mine was leaking. Get it replaced soon because it will get worse. I heard this is common on these 3.8L engine.
That leak is Coming from the Overflow Tank. This is Where the Coolant goes whenever the Motor gets Hot and it is Boiling. Unless your Car is getting Hot, You do not need to worry about this. It is Normal. Please Rate my Response, I need all the Help That I can Get! Thanks!
