My ele. fan on my 95 taurus will not come on just put a new one in what tells it to come on fuse, sensor? and where is it

The ECM send the signal based on the temperature Sensor. If Your engine temp gauge is showing good until it over heats, check the Relays that are located in the Fuse box in the Engine compartment and the fuses. These relays may be mounted on the Fender sides but there should be a black fuse box in the engine compartment that houses the AC, Fuel and Fan Relays.

TForhe thermostat only works on the highest setting

Thermostats don't make noise. Do you mean the fan? First replace the fan switch, next replace the fan.

1994 Ford taurus overheating, no heat...

when you replaced all of that stuff on the vehicle did you make sure that you don't have a vapor lock in the highest anti-freeze line? to fix run vehicle with line disconnected so air can escape then reconnect. if that dont work you will need to put a T splice in the top anti-freeze line so when the vehicle is running you can open the valve and let air out.

fords are notorius for faulty fan switches, you will need to get a new one, but it will probably fail in a year or two.

1991 ford taurus heat problems.

There may be some kind of obstruction in the duct work. Or, there may be a vacuum leak in the small tubes that operate the diverter that "tells" the warm air where to go. Have you checked to see if the air flow is coming out the floor vents?

Your fan selector switch is bad. You can probably find one on ebay for cheap.
