Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada
The good news is that the heater valve is open and the hoses are hot. The bad news is that the heater core is clogged. If it is not even warm, it needs to be replaced. If it does get at least a little warm that means it is partially clogged and could be flushed out.

See my posted question under 2001 Mercury Villager: "HEAT BLOWS COLD WHEN CAR IS IDLING" I got an answer from chuck943 about air pockets and it was very helpful.

as long as the engine temperature is normal, i would suspect a clogged heater core, the dex-cool antifreeze is notorious for building up deposits in cooling system. have heater core flushed first to see if it makes any difference

you may have a bad control valve or the vacum liner to the valve is broke, it will be inline in the heater core hoses and havd the vacum to the top of it. most newer ones are made out of plastic. if they do not open you will not get heat
