Question about Cars & Trucks
The wire is located under the hood right near the back of the fender hump on the passengers side. If you look you will see where it goes down inside the fender to the antenna power unit. Just unplug the connector and you are good to go.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SOURCE: locating VATS module under dash
It is located above th glove box you will need to take the upper dash pad off and the glove box asbly out and the module is attached to the dash reinforcement at the top of the glove box vats modules very rarely go bad it could be the ing lock cylinder ck for contanuity of the 2 wires at the bottom of the steering column in the orange insulation with the key in the lock cylinder and ohm meter across the 2 wires you should get an ohm reading then turn the lock cylinder and if the wiring goes to open the wires are broken and the lock cylinder needs to be replaced.

Testimonial: "Man thanks a bunch, i cant begin to tell you how amazing this all is! you probably get that all the time, but im just an average joe"
You can easily bypass the entire VATS system. There is a clear write-up here on this website:http://newrockies.ca. This was the only thing that saved my Park Avenue with the same security system.

Depending on the system (factory or aftermarket) the answer will vary.I can only help you if it is a factory system. The Module is a small plastic box usually located way up under the dash on the drivers side. Before I change the module here are a couple of hints to check out first.Check the brake lamp switch at the pedal, check the connector to the linkage under the hood and please check all fuses too!
