That is sort of easy isn't it

Remove the drive belt & turn the pulleys by hand

The only diagram you need is the one your going to
draw before you remove the belt

The diagram may be under the hood look for it

I need a diagram for a serpentine belt on a 81 f150. it has a 351w .

these don`t have a serpentine belt system. the have a V belt system. if you line up the pulleys then you will know how the belt is to run. if you can`t figure it out try the library for a book that will show the belt routing.

I need a front of engine belt system diagram. I'm trying to replace all of the pulleys that have ball bearings. I'm not sure if Ther is 1 Tensioner Pulley and 1 or 2 Idler pulleys. .

Get yourself a chilton or haynes repair manual for your ride....it will give you a diagram of the serpentine belt. There is only one tensioner pulley but not knowing your ride or make I can't say....I
recommend an after-market repair manual for D Y mechanics!!!! On youtube is a how-to regarding the serpentine belt replacement but its probably not your model. Pepboys and other auto parts sell manual.

Needing diagram that shows which pulleys do what

Find bad pulley, see what it is connected to and you have your answer. If you don't know what part you are looking at, make a chart showing each pulley and belt route and take to dealer to identify part.

How to install a serpentine belt in a 1996 4.0L jeep cherokee

An easy way to figure out how to route a belt is that the smoothe pulleys get the flat side of the belt and the pulleys that have grooves get the ribbed side of the belt. and usually there's an diagram under the hood. But need to know if you have power steering and or a/c?

Replacing the air conditioning unit with a bypass pulley. where do i start?

Why do you want to bypass it? Is the unit froze up? If not, try unplugging the unit form the electrical source. It should still turn but not kick in unless the compressor is froze.

I need to put the belt back on my 94 thunderbird and forgot how it goes. I need a visual diagram

The serpentine belt diagram is usually under the hood on the radiator support. If it's not available you can figure out the routing with the following information. (1) the belt will wrap nearly all the way around each pulley; it will not merely wrap around a small area of any pulley. (2) The ribbed side of the belt will go into grooves on the pulleys, and any pulley without grooves is driven from the back or flat side of the belt. The tensioner pulley is almost always smooth and driven on the back side of the belt. Hope this helps.

Apparently the serpentine belt was thrown off my 1998 Mercury Mystique. It appears in good condition. Should it be replaced or can it be reused? Also, do you have a belt diagram? Thank-you.

You can reuse it. But you need to find out why it was thrown off. Check all the pullies by grabbing them and checking for side to side movement, With the exception of the power steering pump pulley (which has some in and out play) they all should have no play. Just turn in nice smooth circles. Sorry I don't have the diagram, but there should be one under the hood. Sometimes on the bottom of the hood.

I need a belt diagram for a Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6L V8 engine 2006

SECTION 303-05: Accessory Drive 2006 Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis Workshop Manual DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Procedure revision date: 03/18/2008 Accessory Drive adobe.gif Printable View (104 KB) The accessory drive system:
  • has a single serpentine accessory drive belt with 6 ribs.
  • has an idler pulley.
  • has an automatic drive belt tensioner.
  • is not adjustable.
The accessory drive system provides power to operate components which power other systems. These could include components such as the generator, power steering pump and A/C compressor. Each of these components is equipped with a pulley which is driven by the accessory drive belt. The accessory drive belt is driven by the engine crankshaft pulley. One or more idler pulleys may be provided to facilitate belt routing and alignment. The automatic belt tensioner maintains correct belt tension and compensates for component wear and changes in system load. System load changes can be caused by the A/C compressor clutch engaging or disengaging, or demand changes on other systems powered by the accessory drive belt. To maintain correct operation of this system, it is critical that the correct length drive belt be installed. The pulleys must also be correctly aligned and kept clean.
Accessory Drive Belt Routing

Automatic tensioners are calibrated to provide the correct amount of tension to the belt for a given accessory drive system. Unless a spring or damping band within the tensioner assembly breaks, or some other mechanical part of the tensioner fails, there is no need to check the tensioner for correct tension.
