Hello;
Are you saying the car was in a flood or immersed in salt water? If it was how high did the water get? First pull the spark plugs and drain the oils out. Vacuum out the car, put Drizaires in the interior. Do not try to start it. If you do you will short out the computers. All electrical needs to be cleaned and dried. Flood vehicles are a pain but can be fixed. Lots of work, though.
I have dealt with flood vehicles quite a bit and the best surviours are the older non computerized ones. I have limited sucess with the computered ones.
Hope this helps;

I have a 1996 Acura 3.5 R.L. just put a new fuel pump in and it won't start. It turns over, but will not stay started.

Check your main fuel relay.

Fuel Supply System

PGM-FI Main Relay

Description

This PGM-FI main relay is located behind the dashboard

lower cover. The PGM-FI main relay actually contains

two individual relays. One relay is energized whenever

the ignition is on. It supplies battery voltage to the PCM,

power to the fuel injectors, and power for the second

relay. The second relay is energized for 2 seconds when

the ignition is switched on, and when the engine is running.

It supplies power to the fuel pump.

Relay Testing

NOTE: If the engine starts and continues to run, the PGMFI

main relay is OK.

1. Remove the PGM-FI main relay.

2. Attach the battery positive terminal to the No. 3*

terminal and the battery negative terminal to the

No. 2* terminal of the PGM-FI main relay. Then

check for continuity between the No. 5* terminal and

No. 2 terminal of the PGM-FI main relay.

• If there is continuity, go on to step 3.

• If there is no continuity, replace the relay and

retest.

3. Attach the battery positive terminal to the No. 4 terminal

and the battery negative terminal to the No.

7* terminal of the PGM-FI main relay. Then check

that there is continuity between the No. 3 terminal

and No. 1 terminal of the PGM-FI main relay.

• If there is continuity, go on to step 4.

• If there is no continuity, replace the relay and

retest.

4. Attach the battery positive terminal to the No. 1 terminal

and battery negative terminal to the No. 2*

terminal of the PGM-FI main relay. Then check that

there is continuity between the No. 5* terminal and

No. 2 terminal of the PGM-FI main relay.

• If there is continuity, the relay is OK;

If the fuel pump still does not work, go to Harness

Testing on the next page.

• If there is no continuity, replace the relay and

retest.

My cooling fan will not turn on. What could this be? I had someone tell me the water pump, but it does not leak.

Step 1:

This cooling fan circuit has 2 cooling fans and 2 cooling fan relays, both cooling fan relays are located in the BJB (battery junction box, underhood fuse box) there is a low speed or main cooling fan relay in cavity location # K-46 and the high speed relay is location # K-47! Also check the main cooling fan power fuse # 2 in the same BJB, The fuse is a MAXI-FUSE (large one) it is blue in color and is rated at 60amps!

Step 2:

Also check the coolent tempature sensor thats what signals the fan to turn on.

Step 3:

Do the fans turn on when you turn the a/c on. if not may have bad fan motor

Where is the main fuel relay located

Stand by the gas tank while someone turns the key to ON. Listen for the fuel pump to come on for a second or two as it should. It will only come on for about two seconds to pressurize the fuel system, then shut off and only come on again when the engine is cranked. If you hear it, then the pump is working. Hence, you would smell gas after cranking the car a bit. If no sound from the pump, look for the relay in the power distribution box under the hood. The box's cover should have a diagram for fuel pump location. Or your owner's manual might show it.

Fuse locations for 1999 mercury mystique

There are two locations that contain fuses and relays on this car. This is from the owners manual.

1. The passenger compartment fuse

panel.

It is located on the driver's side

under the instrument panel.

2. The power distribution box

It is located on the driver's side of the engine

compartment.

They contain the main fuses and

the main relays. The circuits

protected are identified by

numbers on the passenger

compartment fuse panel and inside

the cover on the power distribution

The front wipers of my 1998 BMW 528i are not working

Hi angel,

I would recommend first starting with checking the fuse. The fuse for the wipers is located in the glove box. If the fuse checks out ok, I would recommend checking the wiper relay. You will need to remove the passenger microfilter cover under the hood. First remove the filter cover. Then release the tabs holding the delivery tube to the filter housing. The housing lifts up and rotates out out to the side. Under the housing you will find a white plastic cover being held in place with 4 allen bolts. Using a 5mm allen remove the bolts. Once removed, under the cover you will see several control units and fuses and relays. Look for the BROWN relay. That relay is for your wiper/washer system. They do fail after a while. When reassembling the cover. make sure it is seated correctly, if not water can enter the electronics and create problems down the road.

How would I test my fuel pump?Where is it located? Could the fuel filter be the problem? My 4 Runner cranks over, but no fuel, (full tank). This happened after I went through 1'-2' snow, then sat idling...

In the engine compartment, find the diagnostic test connector. It's a small black plastic box with a cover on it marked "DTC". Flip open the cover and note the terminal map on the inside. You want to jump terminals FP and +B with a jumper wire or paper clip. Turn the ignition switch to on but do not attempt to crank the engine. Remove the fuel cap at the tank filler inlet and listen for the pump to run. This procedure bypasses the fuel pump relay, the EFI fuse, the EFI main relay, and the circuit opening relay. If the pump runs, one of those is probably faulty.

Turn indicators are intermittent

check that all bulbs are ok first. then find and remove flasher relay. use a flat screwdriver to pry off the plastic cover of the relay (take care not to damage skynrds innyrds) then immerse flasher relay in a sloppy paste of salt and vinegar for one minute, gently agitate to ensure the poo gets into all crevices. rinse off thoroughly, then let stand in hot not boiling water for one hour. finally, allow to dry on radiator overnight, then spray liberally with WD40. Reassemble cover to relay & refit. Worked for me. Salt and vinegar is corrosive to the crud that fouls the contacts. You must not leave any of it in there though hence the long soak in hot water, to get it all out from between the coils.

Underhood fuse block swap out relay #7 thats the ECM relay.
Ground Circuits Using a DVOM, touch negative voltmeter lead to a good ground. Touch positive voltmeter lead to each ground terminal. With vehicle running, voltmeter should indicate less than one volt. If reading is greater than one volt, check for open, corrosion and loose connection on ground lead. See ECM GROUND LOCATION table for ECM ground location.
