Need to have a load test on Battery. Possible dead cell and not receiving a full charge. Check battery terminals for possible corrosion. Also check to see what your battery says on it for cold cranking amps may not be enough

1999 Toyota Rav4 blower motor not working

Confirm that you have power reaching the motor windings. If positive, then the anomaly is centered around the motor.

How to change timing chain

make sure the engine is at TDC on compression stroke, remove all the parts to get to the timing gears, remove the bolts that fasten the cam gear to the camshaft, the crankshaft gear should just slide off but make sure you dont loose the keyway in the sump as this will cause a delay in the repair.
dont turn the engine at all when you are doing this as it will put your timing out, take the camgear off the shaft with the timing chain, you will be able to remove the timing chain now. when you replace the timing chain you need to put the chain onto the camgear and then onto the crankgear, there should be an arrow on each gear which has to line up without turning the engine, unless the crankgear has been moved you will only need to move the camgear on the chain (not the actual cam) until the arrows line up and it lines up with the retaining bolt holes for the camgear.
hope this helps you with your repairs.

Sub zero start problem

There is an air intake temp sensor that might be causing this. They are called MAP or MAF sensors.

No powersteering

Try removing the belt and see if the pulley pulls out of the pump housing. I've seen the pump shafts break, especially in sub-zero temperatures

Brand new alternator and battery on 2002 crystler sebring 2.7. battery light still on. what could be wrong?

Hello! An Inlet air temperature sensor is used to calculate the temperature near the battery... This temperature data, along with data from monitored line voltage (battery voltage sense circuit), is used by the PCM to vary the battery charging rate... This is done by cycling the ground path to control the strength of the rotor magnetic field... The PCM then compensates and regulates generator current output accordingly to maintain system voltage at the targeted system voltage based on battery temperature...
In simple terms the inlet air temperature sensor is defective OR the ground from the negative battery terminal is NOT at zero ohms from terminal to chassis and from terminal to engine block...Check with an ohm meter set on X10 scale (bare metal) of chassis and engine block to negative battery terminal...Must read zero ohms...If not install ground straps...
Inlet Air temperature sensor ...See picture below...Is a low cost item <$10...It has 2 wires in its connector ...Colors are...Black/Red and Black/Light Blue...It is located in the tube leading to the air box...

The blower fan on my 2001 ford econoline e-250 has quit working just in time for sub-zero temperatures. It was working now and then since I bought the van 8 months ago. Where are the relays for the fan...

1 Open the hood, and remove the cover from the fuse block. Locate the fuse numbered "105,"and remove it with a fuse puller.

2 Install a replacement 40-amp fuse in slot "105," and reattach the fuse block cover. If the blower is still malfunctioning, you may need to replace the motor.

3 Open the passenger's side front door, and locate the blower underneath the right side of the dashboard. Remove the three screws securing it to the vehicle.

4 Remove the three screws securing the motor to the fan blower, and install a replacement motor.

5 Reinstall all of the screws, and close the door.

Transmission cooler light comes on periodically. When car is allowed to sit for a few minutes light goes out and shifts normal

See 3rd dot point. It sounds like transmission fluid is getting hot and triggering the warning light. Check fluid level. Check trans cooler and cooler lines to be sure trans fluid is flowing through cooler to transmission. Transmission fluid temperature (TFT) sensor
The TFT sensor is located on the internal wiring harness to the solenoid valves in the fluid pan.
It is a resistor and measures the transmission fluid temperature.
The transmission fluid temperature is used by the PCM for the following functions:
  • Applying the torque converter clutch is not permitted until the transmission fluid reaches a certain temperature,
  • engagement of 4th gear is prevented in extreme sub-zero temperatures until the normal operating temperature is reached,
  • if the transmission fluid temperature is excessive, a pre-set fixed shift curve is selected and the torque converter lock-up clutch is closed in "2", "3" and "4"; of the transmission warning indicator is activated. No substitute signal is available for the TFT sensor.
