Can I bypass the A/c pump?

most veh's you can but it depends on the position of the tensioner pulley (if it has one) if it does'nt have a tensioner pulley, and it's tightened by the alternator then should'nt have a problem take a piece of string and run around the other pulleys and measure it to get the aproximate length you would need.

Vehicle stops running when I let off of gas pedal

First thing it sounds like is a Partially Plugged Fuel Filter, Chhange your Fuel Filter 1st,Its the Least expensive, If that does'nt Fix it, You could have a Faulty Fuel Pump which is in your Fuel Tank. These are the most common problems. Hope this Solves your Problem.

'96 Jeep Cherokee Classic: front windshield washer does'nt work. Replaced both front & rear pumps.

If you have replaced the pumps and the switch, the only thing left is the wiring. First of all , check the fuse, and then , with a test light, see if you have power at the pump when you hit the switch. I'm assuming you don't, and you will need to keep probing the wire back from the pump to the switch until you find power. Keep in mind power will only be present when the switch is pushed. You will also have to be sure the ground wire s good. Good luck.

Had to change water pump on my 2006 kia sorento timing belt had to come off tried to set timing first would crank but not start tried to set again and now crank won't turn what happened and how to fix...

if the valve timing is too far out the problem may be that one of the valves is open when it should'nt be & the piston is hitting it, if you try to keep starting the engine you may cause serious damage to it (if you have'nt already done so),it may be best to get a qualified mechanic to set the timing for you.....hope this helps.....cheers

Grounded battery while car was running, suspect the engine comtrol module is fried. Sound right? If so, where's the ECM located on an 89 Wrangler?

It's likly you did alot of damage. First with a well charged and correctly installed battery it's best to cheal some other things first. The large fuses near the battery( fuseable links) need to be checked to see that their connected. Use a test light to test all of them. ( a test light is a tool that has a bulb in the handle of a tllt that lloks like a clear ice pick and has a wire coming out the end oif the handle. on the end of the wire is a clip to connect to ground ( the negative post on the battry) and as you touch the piont to the positive post of the battery ( or anythign powered) the light will light in the handle showing you that the power is getting to there) The test light should be as bright as the connection at the batery was or you have detrcted a poor connection if the light is'nt as bright as the battery was. Going though all the wires coming from the battery ( theirs alot) repair any that are dead. Then go to the fuse box and do the same thing. Use the test light as a blown fuse can (look ) good and be bad. on the tops of the fuses theirs a little bare place on the fuse and just touch the test light and if lights up on both sides it's good .. If it lights on one side it's bad it it does'nt light at all it may not be on. ( key on or lights on or key turned to crank may need to happen for somes fuses to light the test light) If one side of the fuse lights the light the other side sould light too. If all the fuses check good and the jeep cranks but does'nt run you still need to check it just like any no start car. If it does'nt crank fix that first. Once cranking see that it's got spark. ( plug a plug wire and connect it to a spare plug laying on the head and chank the engine to see if theirs spark. With spark them cheak to see if it'll run with added fuel. Remove the air inlet hose on the throttle body slose a little gas it their and put the hose back on and crank it and if it starts you know it'll runn if it was getting fuel. Cheaking for fuel pump operation is next and the fuse from the pump can be on the fire wall on the passenger side. get under the jeep and put your ear against the gas tank and listen as someone turns the key one and if you hear the fuel pump come on you can say the pump works if not you need to find the fuel pump fuse and the realy that turns the pump on as this short to powercan back feed and blw relays and fuses. Most of the time theingtion module can blown on a back feed and the computer can too but the fuse often protects the computer. The computer is the box ( small cerial box size on the firewall on the passenger side) This part has to be programmed to work so a used one is no help as an old computer can'nt be reprogrammed ( to pervent thief) so a new computer has to be bought and programmed to match your car ( this is best left to a professional shop) I've even had other professional shops come to me to do this work cause you only get one chance at it and the other things i just told you about are much more likly to happen then computer failure and if the computer did fail some of these other problems have happened too and they'll need to be found.. iF THE FUSEABLE LINKS HAVE BEEN REPAIRED OR REPLACED IN THE PAST THEY CAN CAUSE THE COMPUTER TO FAIL AS THEY MIGHT NOT BLOW AND BLOW THE COMPUTER INSTAED.

WHERE IS GAS SENDING UNIT LOCATED AND IS IT WORTH FIXING

the fuel sending unit's located on the side of your fuel pump, located inside the fuel tank, you did'nt specify what year, make, moel,or engine size.but the odds are that it's an 80's model or above. if so,then this is you. you can purchase a used fuel pump at a used parts place that will have the sending unit you need. but the question remains? is the used one good. rarely do they go bad,but they do sometimes.you would do well to purchase a new fuel pump, which the fuel sending unit will be new also. just to be sure.but,if your mechanically inclined and can drop the fuel tank yourself, then you may come out cheaper bu purchasing a used fuel pump.there is no fuse for the fuel guage.there is a fuse for the fuel pump, and also a fuel pump relay, but odds are you're fuel pump works or wlse the engine would'nt start.the issue is the fuel level, right? replace the fuel pump, either new,or used and this should repair the issue. the fuel tank will have to be removed to replace the pump, most garages charge according to how much fuels in the tank. a full tank of gas is super heavy,a low tank is light and easily dealt with under the car.suggest you shop around 1st for pricing.thank you very much for choosing fixya.com. and good luck in your repairs!!

How do you take off a water pump on a 1988 nissan 300zx?

Pull shroud off for fan, take fan off waterpump, loosen alternator bolt, remove.belts, pull timing cover.that with give you access to waterpump.it's a good idea to change hoses to pump because it's all behind timing cover,I also changed my timing belt at the same time. It's a pretty good job and I did'nt want to have to do it again for a while.
Good Luck
