By the driver side ,to the left,at dash, there's a hood release, pull, then go to hood and reach your hand in there to release handle.

SOURCE: 2004 ford escape drivers window will not go up or

first thing i'd check is the fuse box. there are 2, one is in the driver side footwell on the left, beside the brake, and under the hood to the top right when facing the truck. sorry i wasn't able to get pics. but its not hard to find. check the smaller fuses first either with a volt meter or looking at them, depending what type of fuse you have. find the one thats blown, go to autozone and youre good.

I have a 20-04 ford escape. Accidentally ran it out gas. Put gas in tank but won't turn over. Ran great before. I believe i also wore the battery down low What to do?

Charge the battery.
Look for a fuse or breaker for the fuel pump, if there was no gas it might pop the breaker.
Try again!

2004 ford escape belt assembly

Most of the Fords I've owned including my 3 Escapes, have a diagram for the serpentine belt under the hood of the vehicle. Typically located on the frame above the radiator.

2004 Ford Escape loud grinding noise, power steering stiff and belt covered w oil like substance?

Sounds like the power steering pump has failed.
You could take the serpentine belt off and check the pump pulley.

Do the brake lights work. If not, it sounds like you have a problem with the brake light switch.

How to install the cabin filter on Ford Escape 2004

I believe 2002 thru 2008 are the same. Turn your windshield wipers off so they stop up on the windshield, not in their home position. Open the hood. On the Right hand side of the engine compartment ( left hand as you stand facing the car ) at the point where the firewall and windshield come together you will see the plastic cover that must be removed. This cover goes from the right hand fender to the middle of the windshield. Near the windshield you will see (4) plastic plugs that are just under 1/2" in diameter. These covers must be popped out of their pocket to get at the phillips head screw that is underneath - I used a pointed scriber to pop them out. Remove the phillips head screws. I had to lift the hood up off the support rod to get the screw driver at the screw nearest the fender. Also on this plastic cover you will find (4) plastic screws that must be removed. Then pull out the little expansion plugs that held these (4) screws. You are now ready to remove the outside cover. Under here you will see another cover that you lift up slightly and pull toward the front of the car. This will expose the filter compartment, and hopefully a slightly used filter that needs changing. If there is no filter in the filter compartment don't be confused, the filter was a dealer option and if you ordered it, they placed the filter in there for you before they delivered the Escape. If you did not order the filter option, they just didn't place one in there. Good luck and hope this helps.

Cruise control

ok, there are two issues. one could be a fuse that you can exchange out with a working one. secondly, this could be a sensor that is connected to the cruise control assembly under the hood. i would pop the hood to see if the cruse control assembly has became stuck or the cable may have been severed as well.
