Handling Hi my name is Tom. I have a 93 Stealth ES at highway speeds slight turns such as on and off ramps it is very hard to maintain the turn , feels like riding on the outside of the tires ,thought it was alignment, had it aligned still the same. I love my car it's pretty fast for having 140,000 miles but the handling really sucks. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello;
Great tires like the T/A help immensly. Did this problem just start? I would also look into putting high performance shocks on all 4 corners like KYB or Bilsteins and making sure all the suspension components are in perfect shape. I love a car that handles! So fun to drive.
Thanks and hope this helps;

Why does my 2003 pontiac grand prix maintain speed on flat surface when cruise is not turned on?

Sounds dangerous and hard on breaks. I\'d catty with the throstle linkage under the hood. It should twist open with a bit of pressure, than snap shut when you let go. Yours won\'t. The return spring is worn, stretched out, or most likely gone missing or fell out. Find it and hook it up. Or any spring with the power to pull it back to a closed position. Must be hard to restart the car after it\'s warmed up too.

Turn ac on and car dies in idle. On highway with cruise on car speed slips a little up and down when trying to maintain a constance speed

The first thing to do is the throttle body needs to be cleaned, grime in this area prevents the throttle plate from closing completely and allowing air to enter, making the air/fuel mixture lean. The highway problem be cleared also.

How to hook up the starter wire

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help.

The starter wire(non ground)wire goes from your battery's terminal to the back of the starter solenoid.

You will need to get the car up on ramps or blocks to see the starter. Using an open ended wrench carefully turn the nut counter clockwise.(lefty loosy righty tighty). Replace the cable and turn the nut clockwise.

I trust this answered your question. If I can bee of further help let me know. Either way, please take the time to rank my helpfulness by the thumbs method.

Left turn signal

Hi my name is Tom and I am here to help you.

Turn signals flash rapidly if your say left signal circuit is not getting enough voltage. Check and clean all the contacts both front and rear systems. Make sure that the sockets the bulbs go into are clean. Check after you clean and the flasher should slow down and you lights should be brighter. Simply put the 12 volt lights are only getting a lot less than 12 volts.

If I can be of further assistance please call or mail me

Jeep bucking or jerking at highway speeds

Uh oh. It sounds like you have the all too infamous "Jeep Death Wobble" Google what I just quoted and you'll find pages and pages talking about it. It is a major problem with those older Jeeps. No one really seems to know exactly what causes it. But the fix is always the same. Get rid of the Jeep and get another vehicle. No Jeeps before 2001 unless you want to take the chance of ending up in the same situation.

Hi. I have an '82 F-150 with a 351 c.i. engine, the extended cab version with the full-length bed, 4WD, with only 20,000 miles on it. When I'm driving about 70 mph, the tachometer reads 3000 rpm, which...

Hi

It does look like you have a 3 speed C6, if the PRND21 description is correct. If you do have overdrive, the "D" will be printed in a white oval.

Sounds like it is OK. My Mustang has a 351C with a C6 trans, and 3000 rpm is about right at 70mph.

The defining factor on the rpm will be the Differential gears, which in a truck, might very well be taller gears instead of highway gears, as the taller gears provide more power output at the axles than the highway gears do.

Example:
if you had 3.0 to 1 gears (Highway), that means that the driveshaft will turn 3 times for every complete revolution of the rear wheels(Axle)

If you had 4.0 to 1 gears, then the driveshaft would turn 4 times for every revolution if the axle. Lots of torque for pulling stumps, but on the highway. the engine will have to turn more rpm's to maintain 70 mph vs a 3 to 1.

with the 3 to 1, you will turn less rpm's on the highway, but will have less available low speed power (Torque) at the wheels.

Sounds like the truck is doing fine.

How do i know if my throttle position sensor is bad

Unplug it and see if anything changes. When mine went bad I could feel the car slightly going faster and slower when trying to maintain a highway speed of 55. This was caused by the TPS. It is a electric servo that turns to adjust the throttle and when they go up they can either not work, or they kinda jitter back and fourth which is what mine was doing.
