with the vehicle on the ground open the hood. standing in front of the vehicle the filter housing will be at the front of the engine compartment just to the right of the intake manifold at the front of the engine. it has a large black plastic cover with a hex-nut shaped protrusion on the top.it is approximately 1 1/4" in size.the actual filter is of the cartridge variety and must be installed under this cover.be very careful when you have installed the filter and are ready to reinstall the cover, the cover seals by an "O"ring (which should be replaced and should be in the box with the filter) and even though the hex on the cover is so large the cover is only to be tightened very lightly after it makes contact with the aluminum housing.at this point the oring has already sealed it.do not over tighten.

Jack the car up. The filter is under it next to the oil plug. Careful not to bend the car. It has certain spots it can be lifted.
