Question about 2000 Oldsmobile Alero
Heater is not blowing out any air- hot or cold. Just happened, was working normal prior.
Check for power.. usually fuses first..a 25 amp mostly.. repost findings..

The ambient temperature sensor going bad causes this exact problem. I've replaced many of them because when they show outside temp as being below 60 degrees, the A/C control module will shut the compressor off.

as long as the engine temperature is normal, i would suspect a clogged heater core, the dex-cool antifreeze is notorious for building up deposits in cooling system. have heater core flushed first to see if it makes any difference

Hi, my name is Ron,Is the freon level right or to much or to little amount of freon?Does the ac accumilator get really cold?The pipe coming off the accumelator ?If so,look for a vacuum line to be colasped or leaking,and check vacuum resorvoir to see that it is not leaking vacuum...any more help...email@example.com

There should be a heater control valve located under the hood in a hose. One hose goes into the firewall which flows through the heater core inside the rear of the dash and another hose coming out and back to the engine. It is probably a bad control valve or maybe the cable is stuck which opens and closes it when you move the knob on the dash. Have someone inside the car move the lever from hot to cold and see if the cable to the heater control valve moves. The rest depends on how handy you are. Should be an easy repair for your local shop.
