Drove 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee to the gas station and had no problems. After going inside and starting to back up, it was hard to drive home as it felt there was no power steering?

buying gas or what, topping off oil or ??????? must i ask? (hinting someone fiddle p/s filler cap?
can we reduce this to one line
"power steering only" is stiff?
get it serviced, its under warranty ,now?
check fuses
scan it. (i bet that is a bingo there)
it has 2014 has to systems options normal and ehps
both:
if it has p/s belt its loose or dropped.
if engine rpm is 300, say so. that needs fix'n

.
the online fsm shows both types, 2014 fsm.
with EHPS as electric
both have p.s pumps
25 trouble codes for EHPS
the verification is
key off, connect scantool ,erase all dtc

turn key on
move steerring min to max
center it.
Turn the ignition off and wait five seconds. Turn the ignition on and using the scan tool, read Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from all modules.

If there are no DTCs present after turning ignition on, road test the vehicle for at least five minutes.

Again, with the scan tool read DTCs. If any DTCs are present, refer to the Table of Contents in the applicable section for the Diagnostic procedure and troubleshoot the new or recurring symptom.

If there are no DTCs present and the customer's concern can no longer be duplicated, the repair is complete.

My ford explorer has been making a noise while driving it for about 2 months, this morning it started fine and i drove it across town, i parked it and 2 hours later i get in it and its making more noise...

You may want to stop driving it, open the hood, and check to make sure your belts are still attached.
The smell might be that your very low on power steering fluid, which would also make it extremely hard to steer.

Car will not idle 2002 lexus gs 300

if it drives fine off idle then I would suspect the Idle air control valve.
If its hard to start unless you put your foot slightly on the gas then again I would suspect the IAC

How do i bleed air from power steering pump from 2006 gmc duramax 2500

Routinely, you just jack the vehicle enough to have the tires clear the ground and with the engine on, turn full left till it bottoms out....then turn full right till you bottom it out and then repeat up to ten times.....

Lincoln 1997 Continental

This is caused by the voltage to the power steering module being too low. That is causing the power steering to dis-engage. You should have your charging system check. You probably have a bad battery or a bad alternator.
Some auto parts stores and Sears will do it for no cost.

Power steering problem

you have air in the lines from changing everything out. if the put and rack and pinion are new you have to work the wheel back and forth to get the air out of the lines
