My Child left a light on in our 2005 Odyessy, and the battery died completely. We had to Jump the vehicle off, and reprogram the radio code. The radio works fine. The DVD player has the "disk in" light lit as well as an oval light just below that, but will not work at all. It will not eject the DVD, or even begin to spin up on the DVD that is in it.

The first thing to check is the fuse associated with the dvd player. If it is blown then that is probably your problem. The fact that it blew means there is an electrical short somewhere that will need to be fixed. Otherwise, you will continue to blow fuses. If it is not blown then pull it out for 30 seconds and replace. Then try to operate your DVD.

Pontiac montana dvd & radio

Being a Brit I don,t know the car but would suggest that your radio/CD might be security coded which works as a security device if someone steals it. There should be instructions somewhere in your glovebox manual telling you how to re-code it. The code would be supplied with the radio and noted somewhere. If not the Pontiac dealer may be able to help you if you quote him your VIN. Some "mechanics" foolishly write the code on the radio unit label - it's stupid but you could try there first!

Radio stopped after the battery died and was recharged

The first thing to check is the fuse for the radio. More likely, though, is that the radio needs a security code to turn back on. A local dealership may be willing to give you this code if you go there with your title. There also websites that offer radio unlock codes. Does the radio display anything when you start the car or when you try to turn the radio on?

I have a 96 infiniti I30 and my battery recently died bc I left my lights on one morning.. after I got a jump I noticed that my cd player goes on..but will not recognize the disc that is In there already,...

I suspect your cd play needs you to enter a security code. You should look through the documents that came with your car for a hand written 4 digit code on the owners manual perhaps.

After my battery died, and was recharged my radio stopped working. What should I check to make it work again?

The radio has an anti theft feature that requires a code to be entered once power has been lost. The code is provided at the time of purchase, and may be in the paperwork that came with the car or written in the owner's manual. If you can't find the code, you will have to ask the dealer for the code. Let me know if you have more questions.

I had to get a new battery and now my dvd player will not work...this seems to be happening to other folks as well. Any suggestions? I know if I take it to the dealer, they'll just want me to buy another...

This is just a thought, may not be the problem, but in most modern cars they tell you not to remove the battery lead for a long time, If you took a long time to replace the battery that may have reset some of the computer settings,
To reset them you need to scan the system which means the dealer. Sometimes you can get a free scan at Autozone, worth a try.
