SOURCE: How do I add power steering fluid to 2005 chevy equinox?

first and it's sort of obvious... make sure the motor is off.... look for a cap at the front of the motor where the fan belt is... may even be labled power steering ... you add the fluid there

SOURCE: power steering fluid

I would suggest using Valvoline Power steering fluid.  It is certified to be used in GM vehicles.  Hope this helps.  Let me know if I can help any further.  Thanks for an honest rating and for using FixYa!

I have a 1989 chevy pickup can not afford power steering pump can i bypass pulley with smaller serpetine belt

I is not advisable for a number of reasons. The steering will be a lot harder than even a vehicle without power steering which is a safety issue. The steering gear relies on the oil circulating through it for lubrication, so you would be putting undue stress and wear on the steering box.
By the time you spend good money for a smaller belt and a lot of time trying to make it work, you could get a used pump from a pull it yourself junkyard.

Does it matter what kind of Power Steering fluid I use for a 1998 Chevy Blazer?

you will use regular power steering fluid. Most if not all GM's use plain old power steering fluid. Brands make no difference. Make sure the one you get is not labeled for Honda use.

1982 G30 Chevy Van power steering fluid

Find the power steering pump. The fluid goes in the top of the pump. Look for a twist off cap that has a measuring stick attached to the under side, when you take it off. Make sure you use the correct type of fuild for YOUR kind of vehicle. There are diffrent types for different makes of vehicles. Don't OVERFILL the pump.
