SOURCE: How do I change the rear brake light housing unit?

Open the trunk and remove the cardboard covering that back side of that rear light. You should see some nuts around what would be the tail light. You will have to remove these, a deep well socket is best, rarely there are screw so be on the look out for them. Once they are removed and the wires are disconnected it should drop right off. When you install the new one make sure you use sealer around anything that might leak.

How do you change the front struts in a 2008 Buick Lucerne

There are 3 bolts under the hood on the top of the strut tower, then there will be 2 bolts through the top of the spindle that attach the lower portion of the strut. you will need to unhook any attached brake lines and speed sensors. If you are changing out loaded struts, then you just bolt the new ones in like the old ones came out and have your vehicle aligned. If you are trying to just change the cartridges you will need special spring compressors and take the units apart to get to the cartridge inside.

Just a thought but the older models you just pushed towards the rear and up to disengage a hook and latch type system.
