Hi if you've checked your bulbs and they are ok try your fuses the main beam one may have blown.

I went into town, turned off truck, headlights were working. Came out of store and no headlights. All the other lights, running lights, brake lights, signal lights work, but not headlights.

I guess you are saying that after you turned the ignition off, the headlights and all lights went off, but when you returned and turned ignition on all lights but the headlights came on. "a gremlin" stole my light switch? Possible, but most likely your headlight switch is bad, or the headlight relay, or if the dimmer switch makes no difference, It could be power supply or connection to the headlight dimmer relay is bad. Corrosion causes funny behavior. Clean bright metal connections make a world of difference. Follow headlight wiring back to a small box usually on the inside fender of the Engine bay. Check all connections including the ground to the frame (body metal).

Bright lights not working

It would be nice if we knew what first aid you have done so far. If lights, or any other electrical thingy does not work on a car, the first option is to check the fuses. They are clearly marked on the fuse box. If the fuses are OK, check the bulbs. They are designed with two filaments, one for dim, one for bright on each bulb. It is entirely possible that both bright filaments have blown, with the dims still working. The third place to look is at the relays, but it is unlikely, though quite possible, that you have a problem there. The relays are the little black boxes in the fuse box, also marked.
Finally, and entirely unlikely, is the dimmer switch. These have been known to cause a problem but as I say, very unlikely.

Dash lights work but do not glow as bright at they once did. Dimmer switch works fine. The section of the dash lights where the vehicle mileage should illuminate does not work at all. Checked all fuses....

bulb is busted sometimes they place bulbs which are rubber coated so in time they tend to dim the best way is remove all the bulbs and replace with led you will see the difference

Why will my dim lights on my 2006 chevy trailblazer not work only the bright

Your low beam relay might be bad or the dimmer switch is faulty. A possible cut/corroded wire could also be to blame.

Dash lights do not work 2000 ford exploier

All go out at once, first check fuses, then dimmer switch for dash lights, finally headlight switch. To check dimmer switch, pull connection off back, on harness with test light and headlight switch activated, 1 of the leads should have power, if so, use ohm meter on dimmer to make sure it has reading between 0 and some value, if no value, open, dimmer is bad, if there wasn't power then check headlight switch, there should be heavier gauge wire that powers switch and 1 for output to hi/lo switch, smaller gauge wires for tail lamps, dash lights, license plate lamps, parking lights. The color wires from dimmer would correspond to the same colored wires on headlamp switch, probe that connection on headlamp switch with switch engaged and see if you have power, if not replace switch, if so, check wire from switch to dimmer. Now if the lights slowly went from bright one day, to less bright some other day, to not working, then the bulbs are bad... good luck...

Hi beam switch puts out the headlights. When I'm driving at night and try to go from regular lights to high beams all the lights go out. This started a couple weeks ago.

Check fuses under hood. Use a test light to see if you have voltage at the socket when the lights are on bright. If you do, replace bulbs. If they are okay it's likely the dimmer switch is faulty.

Main headlights wont work but bright headlights do

To all, check your dim bulbs. Make sure they aren't burnt out. If they aren't, time to see if your dimmer/turn signal switch is the problem. For the switch, take it to a mechanic or see if someone else will help ya. Wiring isn't my best subject in autos.
