You need an aftermarket serviice manual from Haynes or Chilton.
They will have that kind of info.
I know of no car (I don't know them all) where that is needed and depending on the cover material (sheet steel or cast), could lead to warping and new leaks. I always use a thin film of silicone whether it is specified or not and there are torque specs for ALL valve covers I have ever seen.

Removal of the plenum is pretty straight forward. You will need to replace the plenum gasket after you remove it; the gasket is not reusable. Personally, if I was going to take the trouble to remove the plenum, I would replace the plugs and wires back there, also.
I know, I have a 93 Camry V6, and it is a real pain to do the plugs and wires with the plenum on. There are no secrets or great tips on the plenum removal, just take your time. You need to pull the plug wires up and out of their tubes. They can get stuck so twist them left and right to help loosen them first. The plugs are in the tubes. Use a 5/8 plug socket to remove them. Around the tubes you will see large flat nuts. You will need to remove all 4 of these. Also on the top timing belt cover there are 2 10mm head bolts you will need to back out at least 1/2 way for 2 reasons. 1 to free up the wire harness that crosses there and the bolts extend over the valve cover blocking its removal. Then with a screwdriver pry up the metal washers and rubber seals that were under the large flat nuts. The pcv valve needs to be pried out of the valve cover in the center and then the cover will come off.
Reverse to install.

The 2002 2.4 engine head bolts are 'torqued to distance'.
First, install all the bolts, and, in a sequential fashion, starting at the innermost, working outward, torque all bolts to 70 N-m/806 kgf-cm/58 foot lbs.
Next, mark the front side of each head bolt with a dot of paint. Retighten te cylinder head bolts 90 degrees, starting at the inner 2, and working outward.
