Hello;
You welded a tach on to your dash? Seriously? Hopefully the only damage you did was to the CD player. If you did not disconnect the battery first, you have probably fried the player. Hopefully you did not fry the computer as well. Any time you weld on a car with a computer you must first disconnect the battery.
Hope this helps;
Thanks;
Rich

My son put my cd player in my car and now the tail lights and the dash light were the speed odometer isnt working please help

What was the make and model of the cd player? The reason that I ask is because there is a wire that controls the indicator light brightness on the radio and it is hooked into the dash light circuit. If the fuse blows out on the circuit then you lose those lights.

What makes the cd skip after about 45 to 60 seconds into a song each dc in each slot does it, than a message CD ERROR lights up in the dash how do i fix this its the origional cd player in trunk &am

sounds to me like the lens assembly can't move freely all the way on the slider when reading discs. This will require you to open the cd changer unit completely to get to the lens assembly. When you get to it, check if there is anything jamming the lens from moving and the sliders, like part number labels that came unglued, screws that fell out, plastic pieces that broke, or even just leaves and branches and such. If everything is clear, then probably the sliders just need some oil and because of lack of lubrication, the lens assembly jams. Just regular sewing machine or electric motor oil will do the job quite nicely. If you don't feel like opening it yourself, you can always bring it to an electronics repair store to have it fixed. Other than that the only option would be to change the cd changer unit altogether. Hope this helps :)

Cd player error

so is this a stock RAD/cd?
stock JBL 6 disk player in dash>? or? what? name and model #
mp3 and wma format. but not DVD
or
JBL premium 4-disc in-dash CD changer
io the single disc player, 3 kinds sold. new.

and now comes the big question.
TELLS where you got the disk, or name it, or tell how it was made if home made. we dont know that.

is said CD a CDDA? or not. (always try CDDA first)
is CD a real music disc. from a real store, CDDA, is that.
or CDR, or DVDr, or CDRW, or other record-able media
is music MP3? files.
see, the old units dont play modern media.

try 2 real discs, not scratched.
do they play?
one other way, is to name the radio, brand, like JBL then get the
p/n off it. (hard) then look up the product data sheet on it,
bingo, what it can and can not do is there.

but this does it all, mostly
does what yours will not do.

The single CD player on my 2004 Saab 9-3 linear plays fine but nothing happens when you push the eject button and the light on the CD is not on.

Unless you have 2 jammed in there, you will just have to replace the cd player part (they are separate from the radio.) With the cd player out of the dash you can tear into it (unscrew I mean) and retrieve your CD that is stuck.

those are just slots for storage, it doesnt play cd s at all. your indash single cd and the one near the glove box are the only one that plays.

clean both cables including ground. does it dim any of the lights or do they go out when you turn key to start? make sure all connections are clean and tight and that includes hot cable on starter, and the small wire on starter. if your sure everything is clean and tight. You can try this if you know how, you can chk. starter with a screw driver by crossing the big post to small post on starter but you got to be real careful as not to weld the screw driver to the posts as your are by passing the key and comeing strate from battery, if it turns starter there, then most likely not starter, if you got acess to an external starter switch it would be safer. if that all chks. out then most likely its the starter switch under dash on steering colume. starter is not a big thing to chg. just make sure you unhook battery before you take it off.

Play my mp3 in 2006 Nissan Quest?

I was told the in dash radio unit will not play mp3's. as far as the dvd player, if you have the entertainment system i can't say. I do have two solutions for you.
1) the in dash cd player (mine is a 6 disc cd player) will not play mp3's at 128 bit compression, but for some reason or another I burnt an mp3 disc using the 256 bit compression, still smaller than the standard mp3 comparable cd quality, and unknowingly tried it in the cd player. The nissan quest played it. So it sounds as if the cd player is picky about how low quality of an mp3. 128 is a common reasonable quality. However, I was able to squeeze about 15 tracks on a 256 bit mp3 disc.
2) the in car dvd unit. If your unit is of the standard type, under the seat or mounted elswhere in the car, you could replace it. Dvd players sell for around $125.00+ and will play everything under the sun. reconnecting is not the biggest challenge neither.
& 3) You could purchase an additional hardwired device which allows you to plug in any audio device and play the sound through the Nissans sound system. The device into plugs directly into your wiring loom behind your factory radio. The best part is that the nissan system is already set up to receive this device. It will play through the sat1 or sat2 buttons. I searched and purchased the device online.
i had installed that before learning of the mp3 deal.
well good luck.
Sincerely, Flash
