Just maybe the battery and alt were good. You did test them, before replacing didn't you? How about the starter solenoid, starter or ground connections or cables with too much resistance. Do a voltage drop test, on all grounds, you can get to.

Can i put 2 batterys in my 99 chevy cavalier

Yes, but make sure you connect them in series. If you do them in series, you will fry everything with 24 volts, so positive to positive, and negative to negative.

The best solution though is to get a new battery that is the same size in foot print, but is a higher amperage output. Also make sure that your battery posts are shiny clean and also the connecting lead contacts. Put Vaseline on them which stops oxidisation and is electrically conductive.

Batteries only have a life of 5 to 6 years, how old is yours? It may be failing.

Brand new battery on 1995 VW Jetta keeps being drained and car shuts off.

Have you had your alternator checked ?
If there is no charging from the alternator the "problem" will be solved as long as the new battery retaing its voltage. As soon as you start to use power you drain the battery. it's a bit like putting air into a punchured tyre ..... its still punchured . Could be your original problem ! ! Good luck

Battery always drained...everything new... if i used it 2day the following day the battery will automatically drained. i have to series it or charge the battery to make it run again.

check and see if there is a drain on the battery. take a multimeter (if you are skilled with cars) and set it to amps. Put it across the battery terminals and take a reading. i believe anything over 200 ma (milliamps) is too much draw. If you have more... pull fuses one by one until it drops and that is the circuit that is draining the battery. Go from there to find the culprit

My car was not starting due to battery problems. each time this would happen, I would put water into my battery because the water level was always low.. and i would get a jump start. this has been...

The boiling essentially puts your battery over the line.

There may be a possibility that you are overcharging it, check for between 13.8 and 14.6 with engine running at about 1500 to 2000. Some systems fail and go full voltage...

Anyways, if that is close, it may be the battery. But one ALWAYS needs a good battery, your life can depend on it.

I prefer interstate brand. I like the factory methodology, and their stuff works. Costco is another consideration, hard to beat that price. I dislike Sears die easy and unknown brands.

So, get the new battery CHARGED and in, and test again.

Fact is that once battery fluid has gone lower than the tops of the plates, the battery is very near the end. The OTHER issue is the HUGE deterioration from all of that bubbling ACID. It wrecks everything.... Completely clean everything and recoat surfaces if needed. YOu need good, perfectly clean cables.

consider those little felt washers that have anticorrosive to put under your cable connections to the battery.

I put a brand new battery in the truck and it was

Well its either the battery is also nogood or you have a dead short in the wiring.
TAKE the feed off the battery and charge it up to max gharge 12volts, then just touch the lead on to the lug and if it has a small spark then you have a short,
But make sure everything is turned off before you do it if there is no spark at all try putting a test light between battery and cable lug,if it lights you still have a dead short...Let me know how you go Ron

92 SUNBIRD can't find drain.

hey
u need to check your battery power
turn off everything (car not running) and install an ammeter (use a multimeter which will give you range select capability) in series with a battery lead and then make sure everything is turned off again.. Read the meter. If there is a current drain, the meter will show it. Then you can start removing fuses one at a time to determine what circuit is causing the current drain. Inserting a meter will also resolve the question of whether it is a real drain or some anomaly in the battery.good luck.
