dirty injectors map senser if it has one water in the gas put a product called sea foam in it this stuff works clean water out and clean injectors both run 3 or 4 cans thruogh the car follow the instruction on the can
my 1996 jeep grand cherokee lmtd. won't start did tune up. cranks but
no fire. please help. engine code 54 shows up . cam shaft positioning
no signal. . tested all circuit. changed cam shaft positioning sensor
twice.still cranks did start once ran for 5 min. changed the sensor
again. no luck. help please. keith
No there could be a number of reason, bad gas, pvc valve needs to be replaced, fuel filter plugging up, egr valve sensor needs to be replaced or the oxygen sensor . Best to have a diagnostic done before replacing a lot of expensive parts. Takes the guess work out .
The cylinders are numbered as on the spark pack you changed. You might have done better putting the seafoam in the tank as an injector cleaner. Not sure why you changed so many parts, you seem to know how to get the codes from test connector lead hookup and the blink pattern. You might also want to check the fuel rail pressure and the crank and cam angle sensors. Before replacing the injector, swap the #4 injector with the adjacent one and see it the code moves with the injector or stays put. If the code stays on #4, then check the injector wiring, if it moves clean or replace the injector.
