The thermostaton a 2.8L V6 audi a4 is located behind the cambelt on the driver side. To reach in you need to remove the fornt bumper, slide the radiator upport frame forwards (dont disconnect anything) remove the driver side cambelt cover, SLACKEN the cambelt SLIGHTLY (DO NOT REMOVE IT) then you can slide the thermostat housing out from behind the cambelt followed ny the thermostat.

98 2.8 v6 30v just started overheating, fan comes on, resevoir is full rad feels cold.

Your thermostat is probably bad (not opening). It will need to be replaced. Drain the radiator into a basin. Remove the thermostat housing. Replace the thermostat and gasket. Install the housing. Relace coolant, be sure to use proper coolant as Audi/VW requires.

Where is the thermostat on an audi 2.8 v6 engine

The thermostat is mounted to the engineblock on the front of the engine, under a “cover” just to theright of the crank. The thermostat cover is connected to the lowerradiator hose. The manual says to remove the timing belt. I am notsure if this is required but if true, it is a major job.

Locate thermostat 1993 90cs v6

Follow the upper and lower radiator hoses to the engine block (upper first). At the end of one of these hoses, there will be a "bubble" housing attached to block -- thermostat is under that.

Thermostat jammed, car overheating

Probably right between the two banks of cylinders, at the front of the V behind the top of the timing case. Not worked on this engine in particular but thats where they usually are on V6's.

Where is the thermostat on my 2.8 V6 engine 1999?

If it's the same as the 99 2.8 V6 in the A4, it's quite a ways inside the front of the engine. You have to remove a lot of the front of the engine and you'll find it partially hidden behind the timing belt tensioner. Foolish place to put such a part unfortunately, but at least on my A4 that's where it is.
