I am having the same problem on my '98 Metro. Replaced the plugs and wires and reset the check engine code. Lasted about a week before the light came back on and engine was misfiring. Code again indicated cylinder 4 was having the problem. Had a mechanic go through the engine, fuel injectors tested ok, engine compression ok, spark ok. He reset the code and I am driving it now to see if it shows up again.

How to fix diagnostic code for 1999 vw passat po304 po305 po306

Hi. You have misfires on cylinders 4, 5 and 6. If there are no faults on cylinder 1, 2 and 3 then I would check the power to the left bank injectors. Also check spark plugs and ht leads. If there are running issues then this should be an easy fix. If the faults are very intermitant then it can be a bit tricky to isolate.

Miss fire cylinder 4 1998 chevy metro lsi

check the injector for that cylinder as the electrics is not the only thing to cause a misfire.. Put the injector in another cylinder and see if the misfire has moved

Ok my chevy metro lsi is misfiring not sure which cylinder but it is misfiring and causing the service engine light to stay on how do i fix this

Possible bad plug, if coated with oil, then you might have other issues there. the engine light goes on cause the not firing cylinder is making your oxygen sensosr kick the light on.
Have plug, wires, and coil checked, replace as needed.

Engine yellow light is flashing and engine is not running smoothly

Hi It sounds like the engine management system has detected a fault. I`m assuming its a petrol engine and the most common problem is one of the coils has gone.
To find the exact fault the car needs to have a diagnostic check which will tell you which coil or other component has malfunctioned.
Good luck i`m sure it won`t be a big problem

What does the code 43 mean on a 1996 jeep grand cherokee and how do u fix it?

Trouble code P0043 means: HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1, Sensor 3)Hex code 43 is for a misfire.

DTC 43 indicates a cylinder misfire, but does not specify which cylinder is misfiring. To pinpoint which cylinder is misfiring, you need a scan tool and get the "P" code, as you can see in the chart below. So it is quite possible you're barking up the wrong tree.

If you go to an Autozone they will scan the codes for you, if the CEL is currently on, and tell you the DTCs they find. That will get you closer to the problem.
I'm fairly confident that if you do a complete tune-up, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, that the misfire codes will be taken care of. Be sure you read this, Dodge Ram 1500 Running Rough before replacing the spark plug wires, or if you have already replaced them.

Hope this help (remember comment and rated this)..

5.3 L Missing and Rough Idle Intermittently

i have a 2001 chevy z-71 5.3L. I keep getting a random/multiple misfire code for cylinder 1 . I have replaced plugs, wires, coil pack(only on #1 cylinder)., and fuel pump. I still keep getting the cylinder 1 misfire code. I put truck on a scanner and watched the cylinders. # 1 misfires at idle but quickly stops misfiring at around 1000 rpms. you can here the engine miss at idle but truck runs great on road . anyone else ever had this problem?
