My 2003 basic edition pt cruiser is running very loud and rough. My engine light came on and they read PO325 and PO442 also my air bag light is on and chimes at me every once in a while. My car has roughly 124700 miles on it. I put iol in my car, about 1 1/2 qts because i know im over due on an oil change. could the oil be a problem or something that would cause the car to act funny and the codes to come on.

Find your air mass flow sensor in the stiff collar of the air ducting immediately after the air filter. Have the engine running and disconnect the plug to the MAF. If this makes the car run evenly again you need to replace the broken MAF. The misfire on plug 4 I think is a downstream event of the MAF not sending the right info to the ECU and consequently not providing the right fuel / air mix to the engine

The last chime is most likely an audible reminder that the check engine light is on. It would be advisable to get the car scanned to see why the light is on. Even if the car seems to be running ok, your fuel economy or emissions could be worse than they should be.

wow a lot of codes, lets start with them....
P0351 ignition coil A primary/ secondary curcuit
P0300 random misfire detected
P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire detected
P0442 Evaporative emissions leak detected (small)
P0445 Evaporative Emissions System Purge control valve circuit shorted
I guess the first thing i would do, is insure that all the maintenance on this vehicle was up to date. Do an oil change and a tune up. Make sure you use decent spark plugs as a fouled plug or bad oil could cause a misfire. After you do the tune up, try running it some more, if the problem persist, you may end up having to replace the coil.
The evaporate emission leaks. These, especially the the 442 can be either a loose gas cap or a small leak in the vacume system. Insure the cap is tight passed several clicks and listen the the motor as it runs and try to hear any leaks. If you find a leak replace the faulty lines. Also inspect the vacume line for cracks and breaks.
Wish you luck, we are hear if you need more help. Thanks for coming to FixYa!!

You probably need to get your vehicle tested to discover what component of the airbag system has defected. Most likely it is the mass sensor.
