The engine is running good and I don,t know what to do - I changed coil and cables but problem still persiste. Thank you. Julius..

My vw cut out and does not start for day can u help me it is not a golf it is a polo the engine turns over but does not start

I had that - it seems it is a common problem with these cars. I changed a couple of things and then scrapped it.

Since then I have heard that it is often the crank position sensor. Supposedly it is cheap to change so that would be a good start.

Mine would drive normally and then it would just die and not restart for anything from 2 mins to a couple of hours - then it would run normally for a while.

Have a 1990 vw golf

You have to clean up the fuel pump, and see whether it does or not require replacement. Do also the same with the starter engine, and see if the carbons are in good state or not.
