Lets start at the beginning. You need to write down the actual trouble codes, then clear the codes, then see if they come back. The codes that come back tell a mechanic what to check, not what to replace. You may need to try a different shop to get the actual problem fixed.
SOUNDS LIKE A CATALYTIC CONVERTER.... BUT GO TO YOUR LOCAL AUTO ZONE OR YOUR PERSONAL MECHANIC AND HAVE HIM DO A OBD SCAN IT WOULD TELL YOU ALL THE DEALER FAULT CODES.... AUTO ZONE IS FREE LOCAL MECHANIC AT LEAST $250 FOR A 10 MINUTE PROCESS
hows yr mileage? try cleaning the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) by using vacuum method.. it can consume upto 8 litres of ATF, normally ATF replacement is 4 litres, with vaccum will be more than 6 litres.. if itsnot helping try carbon clean, ask yr mechanic or kia service station
Cars now days are funny. Any little thing not right in the massive amounts of sensors will throw a check engine light. Have the vehicle brought to your local Auto Zone for a free diagnostic check. It could be something as simple as the gas cap is not on tight. Auto Zone will check it out for free.-------------------as per the codes from the diagnostic check you can get the exact faulty part or location of the fault.-------------thanks.please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.
i had the same thing, i had it tested at auto zone and they said it was the obd2. i was told the o2 sensor was not a big deal so i reset the check engine light by holding down the trip meter button while starting her up and it has not been on since.
