94 grand am Head Gasket?

The car starts fine, but shakes. it accelerates slower then usual and shakes, up until about 55... then if u give it gas, the shaking stops, then you get off gas, and shaking starts when you get around 55mph.

well ive looked in the oil and i pulled the dipstick out, and there was like white chunky stuff.whiteish-brown

If you live in a northern climate, the whitish-brown substance could just be condensation in the oil. I am in Detroit and I get this on my Chevy Colorado. I think that any damage caused by coolant in the oil would be continuous, regardless of the speed you are traveling. Does the whole vehicle shake, or just the engine?

P.S., I drove for weeks with a gallon of coolant in the oil of my '93 S-10 Blazer with no apparent damage. I sold it to a friend who replaced the intake and head gaskets and as far as I know it was still on the road a year later.

maybe not a headgasket. Have you looked at the coolant and oil to see if you have some of one in the other? That is a classic sign of a bad headgasket. Are there coolant leaks showing up on the engine block in places that the hoses don't pass over? This could be a vacuum leak, bad EGR, air sensor, etc.

I have had the catalytic converter replaces, the fuel filter, the air filter and the engine control module replaced and it is still doing it!

Check ur spark plugs for wetness, if u have water in ur cylinders, you have a gasket problem. 94-95 grand am had a problem with intake gaskets, but my grand am also had a manufacture error on the head gasket too. The dragged the heads over it putting the heads back on and smashed the rings..

My car did the same thing. its possibly a mount that needs replaced (which was my issue) they can cost about $40 if u repare it yourself. not expensive to fix at all. the shaking will stop immediately. Do you find when u get to a good speed it stops shaking but then if u stop and start up again the shaking starts?

It is likely condensation, not a head gasket. Sounds like the shake is a miss. Check the coil adapter housing for carbon tracks, it is likely cracked, and needs replaced

My 94 Grand Cherokee starts and runs ok until it becomes hot. Then it chugs at times and will not restart once the ignition is turned off. The two codes that the system shows are 35, and 76. After it...

check the head gasket, look for steam from tail pipe and keep a check on radiater flood level,if it keeps getting low that is a good sign of a bad head gasket.

I have a jeep grand cherokee that is leaking antifreeze and it is jumping with acceleration. It is also has occasional shaking with idle.

If it is the 5.2 or 5.9 liter engine the intake is prob. leaking. It could also possibly be a head gasket. If you have ran it hot, chances are a head gasket leaking.

At 40 mph the car starts to shake. It last to 5o

I have this same car with exactly the same problem. Begins shaking at 40mph and stops shaking as soon as you let off the gas, but then begins again as soon as you press on the gas and smooths out as you get over 50. And the shaking is not felt through the steering wheel. Solution: Replace the transmission mounts. There are two of them, one on each side mounted on the frame right next to the shock strut. There is also a front and rear engine mount, but I replaced the two as described and shaking is gone.

Yes, unfortunately it sounds like you have a blown head gasket. You can check your oil dipstick to see if there is any water in the oil and also check your coolant to see if there is any oil in the coolant. If so then you have a blown head gasket. The problem can only be resolved by having the heads machined and replacing the gaskets.
