Hi Keri,
Sounds like the gearbox is knackered. Get a reliable mechanic to look at it.

How would I go about add/flushing my transmission fluid to my '01 jeep Cherokee? I have looked for an "access" point and can't seem to find it. I have know how to add oil, brake, antifreeze,...

this is not a serviceable item and must be taken to the dealer who has the specialist equipment to perform this operation ,if gearbox works then leave well alone you do not need to change the oil ever .Old wives tale this tranny flush as you call it in america ,A automatic gearbox never needs to be changed ,do you change oil on the manual gearbox ?=?=

Will the transmission flush do any damage and is it necessary? I had a flush at 40K miles. I am now at 80K miles. Flush or drain? (on 07 Nissan Versa).

flushing gets any particles out of the system, the tiniest grain can ruin an auto-box so its good practice to flush the system at the major service. It wont do damage so long as the gearbox isn't stressed during the flush - E.G. Don't drive the car with a box full of flush ;-)
I say FLUSH - the gearbox is very susceptible to dirt and grit - keep it as clean as humanly possible.
