Question about 1998 Ford Explorer
Or won't go into gear at all engine just revs. Also if it catches car only goes to about 35mph then slips out of gear again.
This time it would be a transmission shop... cheap fix tho i won't guarentee how long it will last... perhaps long enough to win the lottery (gotta buy tickets tho).
stop by your local autozone or canadian tire if live in canada eh and pick up a product made by lucas for the life of me i can't think of the exact name but ask one of the lads or lasses for something that will thicken the transmission fluid.
You add it in the same hole that the dipstick for the transmission goes into.
You will need a funnel.
speaking of which... check the level of the transmission fluid... if it's low add the lucas stuff first then top it up.
Please take a moment to rate this solution. thanks
