1992nissantruck steeringgearbox leaks psfluid at pitmanarm

There is a seal at the bottom that has started leaking. If the leak isn't bad I would just leave it for now because it is a lot of work and fairly expensive to replace that seal and there is no guarantee that will fix it. On a steering box that old it is quite possible that the steering arm has grooves worn in it from the seal.
I would suggest you head for a scrapyard and look for a used one there that doesn't leak.

1997 explorer power steering leak need diagram

the most likely culprit is the power steering box, there is a product available on eBay called leak fix that is designed for power steering systems, I used this on my 96 explorer that was leaking by the pitman arm from the steering box, that was 4 years ago & with 2 changes of fluid since it still hasn't leaked one drip

Steering fluid leak; oil covering steering gear box

if the leak is coming from the steering box there are usually only 3 places it can come from;most common place is the pitman shaft seal, which can be replaced.this is were the pitman arm of the steering connects to the steering box.another place is the steering box input shaft seal, this is were the steering colume connects to the steering box, which can be replace.the last place is the power steering hoses were they connect to the steering box.there are seals that seal the lines when screwed into the box which can also be replaced.so first you need to see exactly were the leak is coming from.rare occasions the steering box is porous which means the box will need replacing.a car of this age should have shown up long ago.you will have to clean the box off at the car wash then run the car and turn the steering wheel all the way to one side, this will build up pressure in the system to show up the leak quicker.

Quarter inch freeplay on steering wheel, 2004 ford exp, any suggestions, no leaks

Check idler arm and pittman arm for play. replace worn parts. If this doesn't solve the problem, there is an adjustment at the steering box. carefully back off the pal nut, turn adjustment screw no more than 1/4 turn, tighten pal nut.

If the seal is leaking it usually means some clearance is off. I suggest that you consider a rebuilt P/S unit. way easier. It takes special tool to pull the arm off..

Power steering pump on 2001 land rover disco ii makes a laboring noise when I turn the wheel as well as there is a leak somewhere in the system. I had the hoses replaced a month ago, but there is still a...

The noise is because the oil level is low and the pump is reverburating. Look at the bottom of the steering box, its usually the lower oil seal that leaks. If it is the steering box , then i suggest you take it to a mechanic to replace the seal, because to remove the drag link arm is very difficult without proper pullers.
