My 2008 nissan maxima will not start. The key turns but no power or lights. I replaced the battery recently and had the alternator tested.

If you have no power for lights or the ignition, the problem is between the battery and the fuse box. There should be a maxi fuse of 100 amp or more that could be burned.
The headlights are on a different circuit to the key switch but everything runs thru the maxi fuses. You would need to take a test light or meter and trace the power and ground cables from the battery out.

it is a cable that links you transmision to the dashboard
i am not sure what the name of the cable is
but if you hold the start position and switch the gears to neutral it will start.

SOURCE: key won't turn - key light is green

Steering is in a bind were wireless key cannot activate. Move steering wheel to the left and right while trying to start. I had the same problem and this is what the Nissan dealership told me to do. I't worked like a dream.

My brake and battery lights are both on my 2008 nissan maxima will go faster than 40 mph, what is wrong?

Battery light on may mean alternator is not charging, thus engine is running off only battery power = weak spark and bad curent to ECM. Fix battery issues and should run better. Brake light separate issue I think.

What's wrong with my 2008 Nissan maxima when both brake and battery lights are both on and it wont accelerate above 40 mph?

That means that alternator is about to stop operating and has already stopped charging the battery. Your alternatives are to change it for a rebuilt, remanufactured or new alternator OR have your current one rebuilt.

Car wont start.

Check the positive lead to the starter to see if it is loose. aaaaatighten it if it is loose. Check fuse to igniton, replace if necessary. Check battery cables and see if they are clean and tight to battery. If not, clean and tighten cables to battery.

1990 maxima when key turned off no power at all inside lights ,seatbelts, alarm, doorlocks nothing.

Check the battery voltage. You may have enough to start and than the alternator takes over. But it may not be enough to run the accessories with the car turned off.

The intelligent key won't turn the light is green, the car is in park but they key won't turn. I used the physical key as well and it still won't turn

You may need to bipass the intelligent key to the ignition switch, or check your alternator, it made be ceasing and or your battery may be draining

Flickering Lights

You do need an alternator. Nissan has a campaign on Maxima alternator in certain years such as 96-98 I believe. Go to your friendly Nissan dealer abd have them punch your VIN number into the NNA net. they will know and that will tell them if your vehicle applies by the VIN. I have seen the alternator on fire. There was fire inside of the alternator. Have it checked or the car can catch on fire.
