Good fuel filter? good fuel pressure from the tank pump? all vacuum lines good and connected right? and a good tuneup works also.. pull a plug out and see if its blackened..replace them all..get the compression checked on all cylinders and see if it misses when running..may need a new head gasket...4 or v-6?.. your car is like mine.. a 92 spirit with 300,000 miles on the original engine!!...just keeps running.

1991 cavalier 2.2l starts up and runs good. but after driving bout twenty mins it keeps dying when you slow down to a stop sign.. it starts back up and keeps dying when you take off. i checked for vaccuum...

Its possible that your fuel pump is overheating. It could be due to any number of things. Try this. Fill your car up, this will insulate the fuel pump to keep it cool and try that. If that doesn't work try running a fuel cleaner through it.
