Question about 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The message panel that shows date & time, miles to next oil change and other messages continually resets to the default 12:00 am Sun Jan 01 and flashes continuously each time I restart the engine after turning off the ignition after driving the vehicle. The battery in the vehicle is almost 5 years old and works well. The vehicle starts up / turns over in cold weather (latest temp -4) with no problem. I suspect an electrical problem but I'm not sure where to begin looking.
I had the same problem with my 1995 grand cherokee. I had to remove the message center and resolder the connections where the plugs go into the back of it. Not hard to do if you are used to soldering small connections, if not, take it out and bring it to someone who is, like a tv repair shop.
