If water pump is run by timing belt, the timing will need be reset prior to start up. Make sure timing is adjusted using the timing marks from factory. Check manual to determine timing mark locations.

SOURCE: 2003 dodge durango started overheating

Dodge and Chrysler are notorious for blowing the coolant temp sensor if excessively heated under any condition.Sometimes this will stop engine from starting and sometimes it will stop cooling fans from operating.

My car overheated slightly. Then I parked it and let it cool down now it wont start when I turn the key no sound at all any suggestions?

check water levels if possible in vehicle's battery. Check car battery is got full charge. Also check you have adequate water with a coolant in the radiator.
Most importantly check fan belts are ok.
If fan belt broke then Alternator may have stopped charging car battery, water pump may have stopped pumping cooling water around engine, and the Fan that assists cooling the radiator also most likely would stop if fan belt is broken.

Changed water pump, timing belt, plugs on 02 mazda 626 2.5 liter it started for a few seconds but now it turns over but wont fire and it turns kind of like it has a low battery but the battery is char

Check to see that all your timing marks are still in line at TDC No1 cylinder, compression stroke.. Sounds like the engine is trying to push against itself.

Put water pump on now car wont start

Sounds like you may have left a sensor unplugged, or loosened the wire on one accidentally. Check all the connectors to be sure that they are plugged in correctly and all the way til they lock.

96 z 28 wont start

The Alt is okay but the battery won't keep a charge? Replace the battery. At least take it to an auto parts store, and have them do a load test.

Your fuel pump is electric. When you turn the key on it pumps up. After it has developed the needed pressure, it no longer pumps, hence you won't hear it working anymore.

Diagnose your problem going through the various systems. Right now you have a problem with the starting system. It sounds like, from your explanation, that the battery is bad.
If your battery checks out, and then you have the alternator checked out, you have an electrical drain. This may be tough to find.

After you replace your battery, wait 10 minutes, then try to start your Camaro. If it doesn't start, (Key to the Off position), take the Positive battery cable loose. Wait 2 minutes, then reconnect it. You are resetting the computer.

I need directions to change my water pump

drain engine coolant.relieve belt tension .and remove the drive belt.remove upper fan shroud.remove fan or fan and clutch assembly.remove water pump pulley and coolant hoses from water pump.remove water pump bolts.then remove pump from engine.pay attention to bolts location because they are different lenghts.clean water pump gasket mounting surface dont scratch .or pump gasket wont seal and leak .apply sealant to water pump bolts.install water pump with new gasket.if gasket paper put a sealant on it.torque water pump bolts to 30 ft lbs.if you got a 2.2L engine torque water pump bolts to 18 ft lbs.install coolant hoses on pump .install water pump pulley.install fan and fan clutch assembly.install the drive belt .and the upper fan shroud.fill the radiator with coolant.then run engine to check for leaks.WARNING AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION REMOVE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE SO CAR WONT BE CRANK BY ACCIDENT. ALSOOOO DONT FORGET TO TURN OFF RADIO FIRST BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY SO YOU WONT LOSE YOUR RADIO CODE.

My car wont start I changed my water pump n now my car wont start

It is a good idea (recommended) to disconnect the battery when working on electrical components. If you disconnected the batter, make sure the battery cables are secure on the terminals (clean terminals if necessary) - apply a terminal grease to prevent corrosion and acid build up. Also, check the connection on the alternator - it's very possible this may have been disturbed or disconnected by accident during the installation of wires. Part of your message says "my car won't start, I changed my water..." did you change your water pump? There may be a crankshaft and/or camshaft sensor near the water pump. Make sure that these are plugged in and secure. Check your ignition fuse in the fuse box, the starter relay(under the hood) and the fusable link, next to or near the battery, or starter. Check all electrical connection that may prevent the vehicle from starting.

Over heeting changed switch ,thurmastat ,cap

hey if you changed all of that, i think the problem is the waterpump, my car had that problem and finally i found that that was leaking from the waterpump, but very carefull if you change it because if you move the timing belt the wont start. a mechanic charges around $225.00 to fix the water pump, the water pump is around 42.00 to 50.00 don't pay more than that.
