Question about 1988 Chevrolet S-10
Pull the o2 sensor out of the exhaust to check and make sure the cat or muffler is not plugged. You can pull #7 plug and if it is not getting fuel you can pretty well tell it is the cat or muffler plugged. I just went through this and almost pulled my hair out before I found it on my 1994 chev 350 tbi. Good luck

Hello, just had this problem myself. Check your EGR valve by pulling the vacume line off and pushing up under the valve put your finger over the vacume line hole and release the valve, if it returns to normal position then its bad if not its good. If its bad it needs replaced. Mine did the exact same thing and thats what it was. Hope this helps

sounds like its not getting its initial shot of fuel to start. thier is either one or two sensors that control that. go to your local auto parts store and they can tell you more and get the right part.

DID you put in new gas, fuel treatment, new sock on fuel pump, all new fuel filters, buy inline fuel pressure gauge, check for codes?, this is not a carb where you pour fuel at it , do you have a repair manual for your truck and have you checked troubleshooting guide?
