I have a 1995 chevy cavalier and the turn signals just stay on and don't blink. I have changed the flasher and the multi function switch and still no luck

First, is it doing it on BOTH isdes or just on one side? Example: turn signnals flash OK when turning left, but only come on and stay on when turning right. If it is doing this, then you most likely have either a blown bulb or a bad bulb socket on the side that is not flashing. You need to check both the FRONT and REAR bulbs to make sure they are all functioning properly.
If it is doing it on BOTH sides, then you either have a bad flasher, or at least 2 bulbs burned out (one or more on each side).

Are you sure you replaced the correct flasher? The flasher for the HAZZARD lights is plugged into the convinience center under the left side of the dash. If this is the flasher you replaced, it is the wrong one.
The turn signal flasher is mounted to the driver's knee bolster bar near the steering column. It is held to the bar with a clip. (see diagram)

'88 Chevy S10 pickup with flashers working only on driver side. Hazards work fine so I was told to replace the flasher relay. Does that sound reasonable and if so where is the relay located? If not,...

logically NO. if flashers work on one side, doesn't that tell you its OK? the flasher doesn't know left or right. what do you mean be "not working"? I would suspect the turn signal switch.

1994 ford thunderbird flashers work but blinkers do not

There are two possibilities:-- 1) The flasher relay or 2) The turn signal switch.
check flasher relay, but most likely the fault is the turn signal switch . ---------- The turn signal / hazard flasher relay is located behind the dash, right of the steering column. -------- Since the hazards do work this eliminates a faulty relay as both the hazards and turn signals use the same relay to function. This leads to either faulty wiring at the multifunction (turn signal) switch or a faulty switch itself. It is always a good idea to check the wiring before purchasing the switch.Starting at the switch its the lever. And the switch wiring gets connected to relay. Test it with a meter to see if it is getting power when it is supposed to (turned ON ). If it is then wiring is OK and switch is bad. If it's not getting power then there is a open circuit somewhere in between.so its the wiring problem. ------------ this will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Left and right signals wont work any ideas?

Have you been checking for voltage with a voltmeter? If not, that would be good to do. But first, have you checked fuse F1 in the power distribution center under the hood? It is 20 amp and next to the fuel pump relay. Check to see that it shows voltage on both sides of the fuse. That is the feed for the hazard flasher and if it is working and you replaced the combo flasher, then I would believe that the hazard flasher part of the combination switch is bad. I don't see a hazard flasher relay in that underhood box, please describe it.

Have you checked for voltage on fuse #3 behind the dash when the ignition is in the run position? If you have that, and you replaced the combo flasher then I would suspect the turn signal part of the combination switch is bad. The "backbone" of the combo switch services both the hazards and the turns. If that were faulty or corroded, then both kinds of lights would not work. Try spraying some electronic circuit cleaner in that switch to possibly clean up the internal contacts. I can give you the continuity tests for the pins of that switch if you have either an ohmmeter or a continuity checker.

Have you removed the steering column covers (after removing the tilt lever) to check that the plug into that multi-function switch is seated firmly in its socket?

PROBLEM WAS FLASHER SWITCH WHICH HOUSES RELAY FOR TURN SIGNALS AND FLASHER UNIT--IT IS SOLID STATE AND WORKS WHEN YOU TAP ON IT--ORDERED ONE--IT SOUNDED LIKE A DIFFERENT RELAY BECAUSE SWITCH IS ABOUT 6 INCHES LONG AND EXTENDS BEHIND RADIO/CD/TAPE PLAYER--WHICH IS EASILY REMOVED (PUSH ON 2 SIDE TABS AND THEY POP OUT-GRAB THEM AND PULL ASSEMBLY OUT--PUSH RELAY OUT FROM BEHIND TOWARDS YOU--UNHOOK AND REPLACE--A 5 MIN REPAIR

Turn signals wont work but flashers do

Hi.
On your 98 Dakota.
Is equipaded with a single Flasher.
If you replace all ready.
Check the FUSE # 10, 15 amp..
On the Fuse box. left side of Dash.
and the FUSE D 25, amp. On engine compartment Fuse box.
Check the proper funtion of the HAZARD switch.
Bacause if the Hazard switch is bad the turn signal don't will work. Match the OLD flasher with the New one.

If after of this still not work.
Remove the steering wheel cover, locate the Turn signal switch connector and with a TEST Light check power with the Key ON
12v. to the RED wire and PINK wire..
If you found 12v. check the connection with the switch.
If the connection is good. you will need to replace the turn signal switch.
But if you don't found 12v. You need to look a an open circuit.
And fix it..

I hope this help on your problem..
Thank you for use fixya...
