My thought would be to get a new belt or adjust the tension on the old belt. The tension you measure in the middle of the longest run between pulleys. They make a tool for that, but, sometimes I use my thumb, I know not very professional. Just to make things easy, .250 is a quarter inch. If the deflection is right around there, it should be ok. I can't tell from here if you might have other issues?
im not familliar with the car but it looks to be a front wheel drive so my sugestion would be to remove the front wheel strut ect it is the easiest way that i have found to access pulleys and timing belts on frontwd's some cars also require you to remove the top engine mount and lower the engine with a jack hope this helps but as i said im not familliar with the car
Hi, your axles on the metro are actually called half shafts, any larger name parts house can order them for you. Call them with the Make, Year, and Model and they will take care of you. you will need to tell them, drivers side or passengers side. Hope this helps!
It should be the same place as a 1991 Metro, on the back side of the transaxle there is a plug that takes a 15/16 wrench to remove. the plug faces the drivers side tire. If oil drips out when you remove the plug it is full. Otherwise use your finger to see if you can touch the oil. Fill with some type of syringe. jeb
The hood will be the same, but the bumper will be different: the Geo Metro had its turn signals in the bumper and the Chevy Metro had them in with the headlights. The bumpers also look different, however their mounts may be the same. If your sister wants fer car to look the same you should find a bumper from a 1998-2001 Chevy Metro.
