Double check that all fuses are still good and in the right locations.
Sometimes they will pop when you install them right after you saw that they were still good.
Let me know what you find.

try swapping the starter relay with another relay with the same part number.. Same with "eng main" And check all the other related smaller fuses again. (if you haven't gone through those near the relays) Hope this helps

SOURCE: Here we go. Battery is dieing, had the battery

RAP stands for Retained Accessory Power. It is the circuit responsible for powering accessories when the key is off. Sounds like something is staying on that shouldn't. Hard to say what though with the information here. if this started happening right after you put in the new radio i would check into that. otherwise start checking accessories like power mirrors, seats, locks and see it something is staying on that shouldnt. i good one to check would be the glove box light or the light under the hood. you can unplug them and then test your draw to see if thats where is was.

SOURCE: fuel gauge is all over the place. After I fill up

i would take it back, you paid to fix that problem, they misdiaganosed it, it sounds like a bad fuel sending unit or a bad ground wire to that unit, also gm had a lot of problems with those clusters ( gauge unit), good luck.

SOURCE: Filled tank today with Shell

weird...first thing to do is get a scanner hooked up to see what caused the check engine light-free, at pretty much any retail auto parts operation-i wouldn't get overly concerned with the gas gauge right now, teh code that tripped the check engine light might explain that problem.

I need to know what fuses are in the fuse block on the positive battery cable of 1991 Toyota previa

Should be listed in the owners manual, if not hook a amp meter to the fuse terminals, switch on all accessories and note the draw ,then fit the next highest fuse. Example 10 amp draw fit 15 amp fuse.

I seem to have a bad ground wire that drains the battery sometimes, how do i locate the ground wire. This only happens when I first start it and drive,it sits and recharges itself back up.

Looks like you have a "parasitic current draw" not likely the bad ground. Use an Amp meter, set it on 10 amp setting, shut off everything inside the car, make sure nothing is plugged in in any power outlets. Shut all the doors. Remove the battery positive terminal and hook up the amp meter between the positive battery terminal and battery positive cable. see what is the meter reading. The normal draw is 0.05 amp and less. If the draw is more then that you have a draw. The way to pinpoint the faulty part that draws the current is to, start removing the fuses one at a time and monitor the amp meter to see when the current drops to normal. As soon as that happens look at the fuse and see what part is that particular fuse feeds. most likely you find the culprit.

My battery keeps getting drained when my car is not running. auto place said that I have a drain when my car is not running and that my battery andalternator test good. What might be draining my batte

The only way to solve this problem is to isolate which circuit is causing the problem. To do this you must have an amp meter. (one that will read up to 10 amps minimum; I doubt you are drawing more than that) With key off, disconnect the positive cable to the battery and insert amp meter, positive meter cable to positive terminal and negative meter cable to positive cable on car. Normal draw will be in the milliamps. Anything 1/4 amp or more I would consider abnormal. Then star removing fuses (one at a time) until drain disappears.

Can a 1999 chevy silverado TSS anti theft be draining new battery?

It is possible for anything to cause a draw on the battery.

They way that you can test for a draw by using a multi meter that can measure amperage. Turn off the vehicle and close all the doors. Disconnect the positive terminal from the battery. Place one test lead on the positive battery cable. Place the other on the positive terminal of the battery. You have now completed the circuit with your multi meter. Wait for 30 minutes before you do anything to allow for the powering down of various modules. The amperage should be less than .050 amps after this time If it is more you have a draw. Remove fuses one at a time until the draw goes away. Then focus on all the devices that fuse protects.

I have a draw on the battery on my 85 Toyota pickup it kills a fully charged battery in about 2 hours... Ive put a volt tester between the disconnected positive battery cable and the positive battery post...

Go to You Tube Video & see how to do a parasitic CURRENT
drain test

What you have done so far with a test light & volt meter is basically
doing nothing

You need an amp meter & a wiring diagram, then pull fuses one
at a time, to get to the circuit that causes the drain, then use the
prints to test that circuit for voltage drops

1993 Buick century Battery dies after sitting for a day or two. Replaced Battery, Alternator, and positive battery cable like a fool. Same problem. Disconnected positive terminal and connected voltmeter...

The short is probably in the alternator. Remove the alternator and have it tested at the parts store or test it yourself. Blown diode will allow a direct discharge of the battery.

Car seems to be charging ok but some thing

Check for consumers staying on such as interior lights , radio etc.. To check for current draw, you need an AMP meter. remove the negative battery terminal. Connect one amp meter lead to the battery negative terminal and the other to the earth cable. Hold the cable against the battery negative cable, close all doors and press bonnet switch to closed position. Activate the alarm and wait for it to arm. Once it has armed itself, separate the earth cable from the battery terminal keeping the amp meter connected. read the current draw. Should be less then 100 milli amps. Usually +- 40ma. To check which circuit has current draw remove one fuse at a time and check if current draw drops. A drop in current draw will indicate that the problem is on that fuses circuit. Also check alternator charge rate. To check this hold a volt meter across the battery terminals. with engine off, should get battery voltage. Start the vehicle, battery voltage should rise to 13 -14v and maintain this voltage with the headlights on. The battery itself could be faulty, you would need to do a load test on the battery. Load tester needed to do this.

Dead Batterry. High current draw with ignition off.

My 2002 GMS Sierra draws a simaliar amount of current.(.52 A). There a two items which draw current all the time on my truck. One is the OEM security system and I also have a wirless auto start unit. Both of these have a continouse draw on the battery. I've installed a high current marine battery switch to isloate this load if my truck will not be used for more than two weeks. Otherwise, the battery will be ecessivley drained. Regards, Jeff
