Instructions

    • 1 Open the hood of your Durango. To do this, pull up on the release lever in the driver's side footwell. Then, pull up on the safety latch under the center of the hood. Pull up on the hood and hold it in place with the hood support.
    • 2 Loosen the retaining nut on the negative battery cable clamp (the black wire and clamp) using a socket wrench.
    • 3 Slide the cable off of the negative terminal.
    • 4 Wait 15 minutes and reconnect the cable clamp to the terminal. Then secure the clamp using a socket wrench.
    • 5 Start the Durango and wait for the "check engine" light to go out.

I have a 97 Acura RL,engine light stays on even after O2 sensor is disconnected.I've changed out plugs& checked omhs on coils.Did a compression check on cylinders, 50-80.Do have oil on plugs,

To review, the check engine light will stay on until the problem is fixed and the code or codes are erased. And if the O2 sensor is disconnected the light will stay on for sure.
Do you have the trouble codes stored in the computer ?
FYI - the cylinders should have over 100psi of compression.

Engine light is on, car wont stay on

check the fuses , you can have a o2 sensor fuse open, also check the wiring because o2s are close to the cats or manifoldss some time they burn and get shorted.., other thing you can do is unplug the o2s and drive it like that and see if it shuts off , if it doesn't so the problem is around that sensor...hope this help..

Dodge caravan 2002 heating problem

The O2 sensor problem has nothing to do with the heat problem. Check your antifreeze level to make sure it is up where it should be. then check the thermostat which is most likely the problem. If either one of them are not the problem, it might be your water pump is getting weak.
