Look for obstructions or manufacturer defects in the filpipe or kinks in the vent hose that is connected to the tank.. if these have low spots in them and the truck has been overfilled at some point, then fluid has been placed in these low spots and has efectively blocked the venting capabilities of the system..try blowing through the hoses with compressed air and see if it clears the pipes.. if the problem still exists go to a towyard and get a replacement fillpipe for the truck..good luck

SOURCE: 04 chev. 1500 fuel tank will not take gas, gas

Evap vent solenoide is stuck closed. Start by replacing the valve and checking the hose to the valve for clogs...this is located between the cab of the truck and the bed of the truck on the driver side (can be seen if you look down through the crack)....If this doesn't work then check the fuel filler neck hose for kink or restriction this is the hose that goes from the gas cap to the fuel tank.

SOURCE: truck runs for two seconds an shut down i changed

No, the fuel regulator from a 96 will not fit a 98. The 98 is a vortec and i believe the 96 is TBI. You are on the right track though, but the fuel regulator is attached to the fuel injector spider and is one unit inside the upper intake. It is relative easy to replace just takes some time.

1) Check the ohms reading from the sending unit. On the fuel pump there is a sending unit that sends the signal to the gauge for the level of fuel. On most cars you can get it separate from the fuel pump. Its either the sending unit that is messed up or the cluster.

Why won't my chevy van stay started ?

One thing to check into would be the antitheft system. Not knowing what year or type of vehicle makes it hard to help. But like i said, engine shut down in 5 seconds or less is a symptom of a bad antitheft security system. This link explains.

2004 chevy malibu 2.2 driving 60 mph shut down

either you have a fuel pump that went out, or your fuel pump relay went. These fuel pumps last around 100,000 miles, so if you're way under that, it's more than likely the relay, if you're close to that, it could be either.

We had a similar situation. It took the dealer a few days to figure out it was an issue with the wiring harness(es) in the center console - around or behind the transmission shifter.

Ok, only two ways the oil can mix with the gas. one is a blown head gaskets. the other would be bad piston rings.

Your ignition module is bad. Known to stop working when it gets hot and work again after it cools off. Replace it. Good luck
