Here's a link to the lower ball joint,it tells you about a fitting to be greased,as you see the ball joint has a hole at threads where greasing fitting will be.It will be best to jack up and remove tire to grease, look for other grease fittings, wipe up excess grease. Also check ball joint for wear, may need replacing.

most of these ball joints can be installed by themselves however since the control arm are so light it is unsafe just to do the balljoints still in order to replace the control arm you dont need to compress any springs just take it apart and put a new one in.

Dexron-III is what's used in almost all vehicles (except some older fords and chryslers), but you can check the owners' manual to be sure (or call the nearest Nissan dealership).

SOURCE: Lower Ball Joint

You will have to remove it and replace it with a new one. The general steps for doing that is: 1)remove the tire 2)remove the caliper and rotor 3)remove the outer tie rod from the spindle 4)remove the axle nut 5) remove the cv axle 5)remove the nut on the ball joint 6) bang ball joint out and press in a new one. Then reassembly is exactly the reverse as disassembly.

THE LOWER BALL JOINTS ARE A VERY TIGHT PRESS FIT INTO THE ARM, YOU NEED TO BUY A BALL JOINT PRESS KIT TO REMOVE THEM, BUT BASED ON MY PAST EXPERIENCE IT IS BEST TO JUST REMOVE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM AND HAVE A MACHINE SHOP PRESS THEM OUT AND THE NEW ONES IN, IT IS VERY EASY TO DISTORT AND RUIN THE CONTROL ARM DOING AN "ON THE CAR REPLACEMENT", THE BALL JOINT PRESS KIT RUNS ABOUT $50-$200 DEPENDING ON THE MAKER AND THE QUALITY, TRY WWW.HARBORFRIEGHT.COM TOOLS FOR AN ENTRY LEVEL KIT.

You can pick up an entire re manufactured axle assembly at your local auto parts store. In order to replace the assembly you will need to disconnect the tie rod end and the ball joint. Remove the spindle nut. Push the axle stub out of the hub. Now with a suitable container under the axle to catch spilled fluid pry the axle from the transmission housing. Install is the reverse of removal. For more detailed instructions and diagrams go to www.autozone.com vehicle repair guides.

Is it possible to remove the rear spindle on a 2004 Nissan sentra?

Sure it is. Remove the bolts from the strut, ball joint and the stabilizer bar. If AWD, remove the nut from the axle. Use a hammer to release the ball/ stabilizers, joints. Dont hit the threads.

How do I replace the lower ball joint on a 1997 Nissan Sentra

Loosen lugnuts, pull e-brake, jack up front end and use jackstands to support vehicle, remove wheel, disconnect tie rod, remove caliper and get it up and out of your way with rope or wire (allows for more room cuz its tight in there), loosen nut that holds ball joint on to control arm and this requires a 3 foot prybar to push the ball joint down after you loosen nut as far as you can before you cant loosen anymore cuz it hits bottom of axle bootthen loosen more and use bar to push down, repeat until the nut is off and the balljoint should slide down and out of control arm with a little elbow grease.
Slap the new BJ in and put on nut until tight. reconnect the tie-rod, caliper, tire and head to the other side and replace that BJ too. there is no ryme or reason to do just one side for the $20-30 cost of part and hour of labor at the max per side to not do both sides at once, plus you will have to go get the car aligned as you disconnected the ti-rods and replaced BJ's which throws off alignment. Save your self the hassle and dont pay for an alignment again when the other side gets dangerously worn out which woudnt be too long after the first one becomes a problem.

Where are the grease fittings located for 1992 Nissan Sentra E

There are none.
Go to a junk yard or a truck repair garage or a car parts store and ask someone to see a ball joint or tie-rod-end or a grease zert.
They will show you what you are asking for.
There are none on your car.
All the joints on your car are factory sealed.
If a joint wears out, usually after 100,000 miles, it will need to be replaced with a new one, also factory sealed.
Be Blessed.

Where are the grease fittings for ball joints on 1992 Nissan Sentra E

The vast majority of cars today do not have grease fittings for most components. They are sealed for the life of the part from the factory.
Only some replacement parts come with grease fittings.

My daughter has a 2006 nissan sentra about 6 months ago she hit a curb with the front passenger side tire we replaced the tire rim but its making a loud humming noise any advise would be greatly...

That loud humming noise you are hearing is the wheel bearing. After hitting the curb the bearing took a hit and became a little wobbly and over time the grease has seeped out and started causing the humming. So just replace the wheel bearing and anything else that might be loose or damaged like the tie rod and ball joints. if those issues are not corrected it might happen again down the road. good luck and glad to shed some light on your issue

Windshield wipers stopped working on 1998 Nissan Sentra. Is it a fuse problem? If so, where is fuse box and which fuse? Is it a motor problem? is this an easy diy fix?

Water can enter and displace the grease in the wiper arm linkage ball joint where the wiper linkage attaches to the wiper motor linkage.

This can result in gradual wear over a period of time inside the joint that could lead to the separation of the wiper linkage assembly from the wiper motor linkage at the ball joint. A loss of windshield wiper function can result when this separation occurs.

To prevent grease from being washed out of the joint, the dealers will modify by adding a water diversion seal that will prevent water from entering the windshield wiper linkage ball joint area.
