SOURCE: 95 dodge dakota heater blower not working

It has been a long time since I've replaced one of those. From what I remember you don't have to go through pulling the heater box out. You do need to remove the glove box assembly. Look up under the passenger side of the dash. If you see the bulge of the motor/cover hanging straight down then remove the cover and the motor will be there. If you don't see that then te motor is mounted horizonally. If that is the case then the fresh air door assembly will need to be removed and it is behind that.
Here is a quick check to see if the motor is bad. Thump the bottom of the heater box by the passenger's feet. if the motor comes alive or makes noise then it is bad. Also check the fuse and make sure that it doesn't work on any speed. (the resistor would prevent operation on only one speed or more but generally not all speeds)

SOURCE: winshied gets fogged up when defroster is turned on?

If your loosing coolant it's probably got a hole in it, and a pressure test should confirm that, but if your not, locate the drain hole for housing and make sure it's cleared out to allow moisture in ducting to drain. They are normally located on or near firewall under hood close to where the back of heater would be. Use a piece of coated wire or similar & poke it in there, but not too hard, and see if you get some liquid flowing out.

these are two diff systems working of the same control. Heater first, do you hear the fan running with the heater on all speeds, does any air come out of vents? Is it hot air? If you have air flow can you adjust it to defrost or floor?

I would suggest changing the control head. You should be able to source a used unit from a local salvage yard.

i dont know if you have checked the vacuum lines underneath the dash but my truck was doing it after i replaced the heater core and i come to find out that it was the vacuum line that comes through the fire wall that was disconnected. after i hooked it back up it started working right again.
